Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
It's a shame we get way too much snow for a roof like this one in Frankfurt. https://www.instagram.com/reel/CzjUyLkO_Kq/?igsh=bnFrOG5rMzYwY3Nz

Cleveland: Random Quick Questions
I think there are a few there, but not the super eccentric. I have to believe there is a street in eastern Shaker, Pepper Pike or Beachwood that has an excellent collection of them. I guess I'm just going to have to go block by block to find it :)

This is EXACLY what i walked away from your article with. Some people skim a headline, or struggle with basic comprehension.

Cincinnati: Potential New Arena
Climate Pledge Arena was basically a complete construction of the Key arena, so there were some constraints with capacity.

Cleveland: Random Quick Questions
Hi Urban Ohio! I need some quick architecture tour advice to take the wife looking at houses for exterior ideas. Is there any one area, or particular street in the Cleveland area, that has an exquisite collection of mid-century moderns? Not the normal post war cookie-cutter atomic ranches. I'm looking for more the eccentric, 1960's upscale "Mike Brady" Cali ranch style homes. My guess would be somewhere in maybe Beachwood/Pepper Pike area, but I can't recall any one specific street or area with lots of examples in a small area. Thoughts?

Cleveland: Downtown: Skyline 776 (City Club Apartments)
People living in a 250 sq ft apt in Manhattan will tell you the same--you're not supposed to spend much time at home. 20 years ago I moved post-divorce into the Statler. I thought the same about the fixtures etc, but lived it up outside those walls. I hope that everyone moving into the City Club 2024 goes out and has as much fun as I did. Go forth and make downtown Cleveland a community!

Cleveland SC Soccer Stadium
This would tie in wonderfully with a Lumen II/Greyhound project.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Compensation absolutely qualifies as W2 income--if the player is paid as an employee of the team. I'd be willing to bet that many of the high-earners negotiate otherwise and are paid via a 1099, supplying their own insurance etc. @YABO713may be able to help verify with some friends in the coaching world.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
My guess is the larger earners with long term contracts are not on W2 and are subcontractors to realize the tax benefits, especially avoiding the local taxes levied on athletes in many NFL markets.

Amtrak & Federal: Passenger Rail News
The last line of the article says it all....they were convinced it was a conspiracy to get Taylor Swift to the Super Bowl. Because MAGA.... 🤷♂️

Cleveland Browns Discussion
I'm sure every big time athlete factors that into part of the decision making process. In addition to Ohio State income tax, the City of Cleveland also levies a tax on entertainers and athletes.

This feels like Stefanski putting a recently humbled "yes-man" in the seat. So basically an assistant for his offense.

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
True--but it currently doesn't move in and out from two different climates in the matter of minutes.

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
With a roll-in turf field like in Vegas or Glendale, you need lots of extra space on site. So the lakefront would not be ideal for this method. I also wonder if it would be possible in our climate. I suppose the field "tray" would have to be heated, other wise you'd be rolling in a a dead, frozen field.

Other States: Passenger Rail News
Buffalo looking to expand it's single rail line. I'm sure the fine citizens of Amherst will give much pushback (the equivalent in Cleveland of running a rail line through Beachwood, or Westlake).

We will get Taylor Swift either way. Just need a home game against the Chiefs (and Kelce not to break up with her). 😜

They typically include weddings, bar mitzvahs etc that are held in the stadium dining spaces. CBS does do a decent amount of business with this as well, but probably not as much as a state capital with an attached convention center.

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
I've been making this same argument on here for years. However--the older I get I would appreciate a dome stadium. I was at the Steelers at Buffalo game a few weeks ago and that was brutal. I could stand a roof and 65 degrees. I just don't delude myself that we would get more events because of it.

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
Until ALL stadiums have domes you won't see many winter stadium shows. The exception would be a Metallica at Ford Field in Detroit, but they only do like 30 shows spaced out over a year, and that is rare. Most artists can't afford this due to the economy of scale of touring multiple dates in a row.

Airline Industry News and Discussion
Most of the people who have had to much were already over-served in the airport bars. That's where the problem begins. It's not like someone can manage to order 8 drinks in a short time on a flight very easily. But if you sit at an airport bar and order a drink, the first thing the bartender says is "Make it a double for $4?"

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
What is the property law here? Can the city petition the army corps to add another bulkhead 4' into the river, and add a boardwalk there? At that point you could even lower the boardwalk, so it doesn't obstruct the views of Bobby George's patrons.

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
If Buffalo should have put a new stadium downtown, where they could very well do without a dome. Building a new open air stadium in Orchard Park would be the equivalent of the Browns building one in the Chardon town square. It's like they are asking for the stadium to be filled with lake effect snow!

Great Lakes Shipping News
Actually if you look closely at this ship, it's a self-discharging bulk carrier, and is at a dock that is seldom used at the Port of Cleveland, except for cruise ships. So I think the seeking safe-harbor hypothesis is correct.
