  1. It is, however a navigable waterway with a channel maintained by the Army Corps of Engineer. My point is you couldn't put the beach where the current port retaining wall is north of the stadium., It's 20' deep right at that wall. If you did, in order to walk in the water they would have to slope the land down under the water out near the channel. The way to over come this is to dig inland and let the water fill in to a beach on a "shelf".
  2. Other than it's dredged to 20 feet at the waters edge there and there is a 29' shipping channel just beyond that. I think any beach would have to be some super-artificial "shelf" in off the harbor. And then there's the harbor. If you think Edgewater is bad, you wouldn't want to swim inside the breakwall, especially after storms.
  3. This is more a transportation problem than space in the park.
  4. Cleveland may have an excess of empty land, but what it doesn't have is a labor force in the city that shows up to work. So all this new greenspace better be put under the stewardship of the Metroparks, otherwise there will be little-to-no maintenance.
  5. This has been bothering me. How do you actually make a beach when the harbor inside the breakwall is dredged to 27-28 feet right up to the wall?
  6. Every Thursday for the Food Bank distribution, sadly.
  7. "Allegedly" vs "Reality"
  8. Maybe everyone will start moving to Cleveland to get massive raises. DeShaun Watson, Birdsong....who's next?
  9. My son was driving for door dash for a short time while a student at Ohio State. He said some weeks he would deliver the same McDonalds order to the same single mom like 5 straight nights a week..... 🤢
  10. I was in Nashville the other day for work, stupid busy with work and stuck in my hotel room. I ordered Shake Shack via Uber Eats and paid $31.00 for a burger, fries and fountain soda, including tip. Who are the people doing this daily??? 🤔
  11. Happens to the best of us. I'm rooting for Bridgeworks. I hope I'm right!
  12. Too bad you couldn't hop on it. Probably a deadhead flight
  13. I've seen this happen at Dulles quite a bit, probably for government/military charters there. Maybe inbound to pick up the Phillies? Though with American as a hub there in PHL you would think they have a sponsorship deal in place with the Phils?

Might anyone want to post a sample letter that we can all send to our respective members of council?
  15. One would assume guests of residents would be welcomed 😜 Maybe a UO rooftop happy hour one night next summer?
  16. The CPD helicopters rarely fly. I believe there is only one pilot.
  17. They have an out. They can run off the end of the bridges and hop over cruisers? Only their bikes would be truly trapped.
  18. I watch the delivery drivers park up the middle of W6th in Cleveland all the time....they are always solo.
  19. This explains exactly why our gerrymandered, minority-rule Legislature wants to take this away from us.
  20. The dirtbikes were on the Main Ave bridge again the other night doing tricks. CPD just needs to wait for this to happen and trap them all on there. It's not rocket science. Most of the kids might get away but their bikes and quads wouldn't. I'm sure they wouldn't be able to replace 150 bikes very quickly.
  21. Be careful with that--technically you can only drive a limited amount with those (to car shows, repairs etc). Certain suburbs with too much time on their hands will pull you over with the historic plates and check on your destination.
  22. I'm not saying they didn't happen. I'm sure it did. This pellet gun thing must be a social media thing because I was shot with a paint ball last year while walking along a suburban street. The response was to the comment about news over sensationalizing incidents. Someone at the top of a business organization can do the same thing to get the outcome they desire.

Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come
  24. But we don't know the entire story with that employer either. Maybe the person in charge pushing this safety agenda lives in Brunswick, and is justifying moving to a new location, or even angling to get everyone working remotely. Sensationalism happens in all organizations.
  25. Many CPD officers leave for the suburbs only to regret it. I'm sure @KFM44107can expound on this.
