  1. Buffalo continues to impress me--new development here in the Elmwood Villiage using the old facades of existing buildings. I wish Cleveland insisted on more of these.
  2. Quick photo from yesterday's drive across the Main Ave Bridcge. With the wife at the wheel I managed to capture a seagull overseeing the work! 😃
  3. Hopefully you're keeping busy and working on something cool!
  4. Overall a win. New downtown residents with nice, quiet neighbors!

Crazy amount of money for any politician, let alone a state level
  6. Might have to pay a visit for old-times sake. Thanks KJP
  7. I didn't even realize that Pizza Hut was no longer open.
  8. I am a pilot. It's my best guess, but could be a host of other reasons (weight/fuel minimums, a CMH based maintenance facility, charter clients for a deadhead leg, etc).
  9. Probably an alternate due to the weather in Cleveland yesterday.
  10. I'll never forget the 79 Malibu my parents bought from him. Broke down on the way home from the showroom. God cars were awful in the 70's/80's....

Took a minute to find it!
  12. I forget the concessionaire there at FES (Aramark I think?)....but someone should get fired.

Probably has some basis in the Central London "congestion charges" where you have to be permitted to drive in certain places at certain hours.
  14. I don't disagree. But more things would also get done if city employees actually worked an honest 8 hour day. Frank Jackson's apathy ended up spreading through the ranks.
  15. Maybe this will lift spirits! Surveyor and Terrace Construction are down there on Canal today doing something....😃
  16. Understood--but my point was they were in their 40's in 1954 when they decided to move out. There lots of racial and socioeconomic factors happening as well. It all wasn't just soldiers returning home wanting more space...
  17. They definitely don't want to fix ILLEGAL immigration. Both parties could have done so many times over. All we need is some sort of migrant farm worker visa so we can get the entrants fingerprinted and processed, but it's better for big business to have them running across the Rio Grande at night and hiding in a shadow economy.
  18. Interesting in that they were not a part of the post-WWII mass exodus. Your grandparents were older and would have likely served in front line capacity in the war. And your dad would have been a child during the war. Yet still they left...
  19. Pitchers and catchers today...
  20. We have to also remember the truck traffic that passes through there daily. Most are 12 axle dump trucks. If Huron goes away, they will divert to Prospect, Canal and W 25th.
  21. Not necessarily. If gas prices went up to $14/gallon, the market may be very interested in high-density, centralized living. Of course here in the USA there would be a lot of political pressure to subsidize gas for the residents of sprawlburbia....
  22. Minus the sea of parking lots...and Im not sure we'd have the space on the lakefront for the field to roll outside the building....
  23. The young families are probably ok with additional density. From my experience in Lakewood, its the older folks who form the core NIMBY. The type that fill their driveways with junk cars then complain that they can't park on the street in front of their house whenever they arrive home.
  24. I was hoping to be corrected! Thanks!
  25. Uh oh. I smell a strip mall.
