  1. Practically every one of these videos I see violates the FAA regulations on operating drones.
  2. I bought mine with a FHA loan first time buyers in 2008. Not sure if the rules have changed. If you're going to find one, I would suggest a side-by-side rather than up/down. Feels much more like a "real" home inside with bedrooms on separate floors.
  3. Quite a few doubles for sale in the area...
  4. ^^Would be cool if the Metroparks or CVNP had a mobile unit that could be on call for weekend riders.

I don't work in this environment, but I also feel like these kinds of corporate decisions are being driven by mid to upper level management guys who live in exurban McMansions are and perfectly fine not seeing people "different" from them every day. Like many things corporate America, this could come back to haunt the company...but long after these guys are gone.
  6. Ditto on El Jalapenos. Got sick from there about 6 years ago and have never been back.

It's a shame our business districts aren't also walkable residential areas with good schools. Many of the problems above would be solved and more people leading happy and healthy lives.
  8. Oh no! I'll miss it, though my last couple visits the quality and service had definitely gone downhill.

I agree, though like you my career is pretty impossible without being on site. I am sad for our children, who may become antisocial basement dwellers without any work or retail experiences. There's more to life than sitting on Zoom calls and shopping for cheap crap on Amazon.
  10. I have been to both places. The only thing that comes to the scale of some of the ones I've seen in other parts of the world is the "Big Dig" in Boston, which of course is famous for its cost overruns and doesn't help the cause for tunnels in smaller cities like Cleveland.
  11. I've been in Europe for the last month where these kinds of projects are commonplace. Rather than mow down historic neighborhoods around the city centre, there are large tunnels everywhere. Yet somehow, in the richest country in the world, your idea will be shot down as "too expensive".
  12. I bought a big old side-by-side double 14 years ago. Mortgage $800/month. I've invested money into it but it's offset by the over $150K in rent I've collected. My advice to young families: get yourselves a double (or triple if necessary). I never thought I would be living in a two-family, but the investment has lead to me buying another 2 family in Akron, as well as a single family in Buffalo NY. I've also put plenty of money into my side of the house (the owners suite) so have many of the modern amenities youngsters are looking for (granite counters, fire place, rehabbed baths). It's a great way for them to start and get their foot into the housing market, while having income to help them along.
  13. Also correct. Before going to look, would-be buyers can do their homework on the county website. Property taxes are public records so you can see the status, abatements etc: https://myplace.cuyahogacounty.us
  14. Yes a huge disappointment. She might as well be Dona Brady all over again.
  15. I had a similar experience a few years back between Chicago and Indianapolis. The conductor came through and tried to accuse me and my coworker of somehow causing the power issue because we each had a computer, ipad and phone plugged in. 🤦‍♂️
  16. Sad. Another example of something Cleveland was first in her heyday, and now continues a slow regression into a tertiary market. I'd love to see the Port Authority include this in the master plan with some clever financing to put a hotel on top of one of the new short term garages or rental car facility in the future.
  17. Enjoy a time-lapse from my hotel room in Cologne the other day. What Ohio rail could be like with our cities so close, and also connecting us with Chicago, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, etc.... My friend that lives there says the government offered a monthly pass to jump start travel post covid. For €9 he can take any train any time, any day, anywhere in the country. Sigh. IMG_8259.MOV
  18. As long as Becky's survives....
  19. You mean it wasn't like "Big Bang Theory?"
  20. I said the same thing when buying my house in 2013 and am reaping the rewards now!

Swag sales. Even the Knicks Celtics and Lakers come out with new merch..they just don't change their colors.
  22. Likely from the .5% tax increase Mayor Jackson pushed through in 2017 with a promise of added services, that of course none of us ever saw.
  23. I'm sure the unions have made it untenable to work overnight.
  24. I was in Philly the other night and they were ripping around center city as well. We are not alone!
  25. What an amazingly simple concept that the Jackson administration would have never grasped. Instead of laying off all the snow removal workers, only to rehire them again as seasonal parks workers a month later, why not just roll them over into the parks department instead of wasting all the administrative time. Their hours all count ultimately towards benefits and retirement, so it really doesn't matter if they are seasonal or full time.
