  1. The new neighborhood is Victory Park, which sprung up around the American Airlines Center. It's walkable to downtown, in an unpleasant Texas way ...
  2. Good for him I hope he pulls it off. This is real-life SIM city stuff that Ohio needs more of!
  3. Generally speaking the NFL and MLB owners don't have to share revenue for "special events" like concerts and watch parties. This is why the summer ballpark concerts have gotten into such vogue--the owners have all figured out they are a cash cow and don't have to give the league a cut. I could totally see the NFL squashing a watch party unless they were cut into the deal.

Not at all. It's just most of the anti Issue 24 rhetoric I've overheard has been in west side bars from guys with bad tribal tattoos, who may just be cops by day. Probably just a coincidence....

Serious question --Are you a CPD officer? Because there are many many cities across the country with various forms of civilian review boards, including many new ones spurred on by the BLM and "defund the police" movements.
  6. I'd hate to fall off one of those tracks!
  7. A pro soccer stadium replacing Krenzler field at CSU would certainly help!
  8. This Browns fan is happy we beat the AFC Champs 2x this season! Good luck in the big show!

Betsy is telling us not to get caught up in the numbers, but the numbers are downright scary!
  10. If you say "Gucci" in a post more than 3x in a post, it will summon the spirit of @MyTwoSense😃 But seriously, maybe we'll get a GUCCI with the suggestion emails I've sent Bedrock to develop a real casino outlet mall in TC.
  11. Wall Street owing a bunch of homes? What could go wrong? 🙄

Times have changed! I saw on a weather report yesterday the lake is currently about 70% frozen.
  13. I sometimes drive by it and think, " will someone 50 years from now be posting pictures on Meta of the strip mall that once stood here...?"

I have a feeling over the next year we are going to see more of these simple changes that the Jackson administration chose to ignore. During the Jackson reign, anything that was outside of the normal job description was left to rot. Will they solve every problem? Of course not. But they will make life in Cleveland a little more bearable which will have long term benefits.

Look at Justin Bibb go! Here is the link to the city snowplow tracker. And he's getting employees from other departments to help out.
  16. IX has 26 meeting rooms. They are in the basement, which most people have never seen. It does lack some of the more modern amenities and as you mentioned, the attached hotels.
  17. This is missing secondary arenas in most of these markets. For instance, Wolstein Center in Cleveland, or Peterson Events Center in Pittsburgh.
  18. What are they trying to hide? 🤣

It's time for the city of Cleveland to allow competitors into the marketplace as well. Give Spectrum some competition, and rates will come down for all of us. Can Cleveland finally close its digital divide? A local nonprofit says it has a plan. Oscar Lawrence didn’t know how much he needed the internet until last year, when he connected with DigitalC, a nonprofit providing low-cost internet service to Cleveland residents. Now he uses the internet to run his plumbing business. He also researches countries he visited while in the Navy. Lawrence, 83, got internet access and training on how to use it through a program the nonprofit runs with the Cleveland Metropolitan Housing Authority, which owns the Euclid Beach Gardens senior citizen highrise where he lives. The program, aimed at cultivating new internet users, is part of DigitalC’s strategy to go from serving 1,160 households in 2021 to 40,000 by 2025. https://www.thelandcle.org/stories/can-cleveland-finally-close-its-digital-divide-a-local-nonprofit-says-it-has-a-plan
  20. My concern is there is no way one of these carriers would operate a wide-body aircraft with lay-flat seats out of Cleveland. Even back when we had the Continental 757 service to LGW, I would take a connection to EWR or IAD to get a lay flat seat. The extra flight leg and time was worth the comfort and the rest when landing in London. I'm not a fancy stockbroker, but I would imagine many would feel the same.
  21. My wife is from Buffalo so I have Bills fans for in-laws, so I am with them in their criticism of the overtime rule in the post season. It seems such a shame that both these teams played 19 games, got to OT and to basically lose on a coin toss. Yes, the defense could have held....but it would have been a much better ending to see these 2 teams fight it out another 15 minutes.
  22. Understatement of '22 thus far! I'm not sure about police cruisers, but a friend of mine who used to work for streets said that the mechanic's union contract with the city includes clauses about when equipment can be worked on. So there could 40 out of 48 trucks with broken plows, and a bunch of guys sitting around in October with nothing to do, but they refuse to touch them until after November 1 (dates are illustrative--I don't know the actual). These are the kind of small things that hopefully the Bibb administration can renegotiate.
  23. Intel is headquartered in Santa Clara California. You know, the communist cesspool. Funny they aren't moving their HQ. But there are some truths to your statement on the Ohio GOP policies. The only thing you left off was the low wages here, which is most certainly a factor.
  24. Having worked closely with the City of Cleveland, I imagine a large amount of the anti-Bibb crowd are city employees themselves, who have grown accustomed to showing up late, not doing much while on the job, and leaving early under the Jackson administration. Not many of them are up for a hard days work, especially in the rank-and-file trenches of streets, parks and rec, etc.
