  1. A lovely site for sure. I've seen them on the red line tracks before I think they sometimes take them to Brookpark for maintenance.
  2. They've never driven on the 405...at any hour of the day!
  3. I would so love to see this in the Cleveland flats. Carve some canals through those new developments on the Scranton Peninsula.
  4. Maybe insurance companies will start demanding 24/7 security?
  5. LOL i just saw this the other day I think it popped up on "Next Door" which seems to be the heir apparent from Facebook for NIMBY block clubs! People were going off about it.
  6. You can bet the insurance adjusters will be trying to figure out how to do this!
  7. Funny how people living in those developments "WaNT ThERe FrEEdum," but impose their will on their neighbors. After driving through a few of those exurban HOA type places, i imagine you might get a citation for not having a big enough pickup truck in the driveway. No Punisher sticker? $50 fine. No Oakley sunglasses on your forehead? Probation plus counseling.
  8. Was a good long run for a club. I honestly didn't realize it was still there.
  9. Welp maybe our status as a red MAGA state will help Ohio in this regard?
  10. IMO West Blvd is the top of the list (as witnessed by the about to happen development). Walkable to Edgewater is a good asset these days.

He'll probably be allowed to go on leave, retire, collect a pension, and get re-elected to a new term as the same old guy. Yay Cleveland Council!
  12. I'm glad someones seeing it because I haven't seen much noticable improvement. In fact, there are still leaf piles on Lake and Edgewater from a city pickup that was supposed to happen in November. I think part of that problem is the city is so inflexible and needs to push their pickups back into December as the trees are keeping leaves longer into the autumn. I'm sure there will be tons of blowback from residents with dead lawns come spring. Snowplowing is marginally better, but it's still night and day when you cross over from Cleveland to a suburb and notice the vast improvement in road conditions.
  13. Birdsong is into her 2nd year of a 5 year contract with 15% annual bonus incentives. Has she received any bonus?
  14. Even those Market District stores are poor imitations, and they still lack human cashiers.
  15. It's my fault. I'm doing dry January so haven't been going out to eat to avoid temptations!
  16. I would argue otherwise. I walked into Wegmans on Christmas Eve in Buffalo and they must have had 25 human cashiers working. That's something you never see in Giant Eagle. Plus their prepared foods and cafe area are light years beyond the others.

Boron with ICE GUARD! I bet you can count on one hand the number of tows they paid for.
  18. I'm surprised Pittsburgh-headquartered Giant Eagle is letting this happen. I would LOVE if Wegmans moved into Cleveland and pushed Giant Eagle out. They are so much better.
  19. Don't worry...Trump should be coming through with his "concept" of a big, beautiful healthcare plan that will provide coverage to the masses.
  20. I was thinking it was more a 1990's Ford Econoline. I don't hate the building though. Classic design lasts.
  21. I wouldn't see the point of connecting to the Amtrak location anyway. We only get 2 trains in the wee morning hours at the lakefront station. For a recreational train line, a station at Tower City, or the old B&O station makes the most sense.
  22. With these improvements on Detroit, the city absolutely needs to reduce West Blvd between Detroit and Madison down to one lane each direction with a center turn lane. For some strange reason when West was redone years ago, the rest of the route was reconfigured, but this stretch remains a curvy racecourse of 2 lanes each direction and cars jockeying for position through narrow, curved lanes.
  23. That's why the Mather makes sense. It's already here. Cut a hole in the side of her, install a door and ramps, and cruise ship passengers all get a free ticket to tour her. I don't think the infrastructure would cost more than $1 million, as long as they can figure out the ADA accessibility. it's some fabrication, ramps and pilings.
  24. I would take one further step--move the Mather to either coast guard side of the 9th St Pier, or the north side of that old wharf around the corner from it's current location (would probably require coast guard approval as that is a navigation channel). Then we make it into our cruise ship terminal. One of a kind!

I saw this yesterday! I had never seen one of those barge/tug combos split apart. It looks pretty goofy!
