  1. And haven grown up in the Willoughby/Mentor area, I can also verify that people I grew up with have found that area "too diverse," and have moved further east out in the Perry/Thompson/Madison.
  2. Completely spot on. This is what happens when your entire political base in a place like Avon is brainwashed with "Back the Blue." The local politicians basically give the police union a blank check. If anything, there should be federal dollars to bump up salaries for big and poor city cops, rather than investing in more military grade hardware for the suburbs.
  3. So kind of the same problem not wanting certain laws to be enforced.... City of Cleveland cops do deal with a lot. My hope is the civilian review board at least cuts down on the Michael Brelos and Timothy Loehmanns and puts good cops in their place.
  4. They are awful. Gunshot and medicaid patients are redirected to other hospitals. Did you also know, in the Clinic EPIC medical records system, patients are given a rating system with stars, much like you would rate your Uber driver. One of the main ratings is "ability to pay."
  5. Issue 24 is about stopping bad cops from doing bad things, not stopping cops from fighting crime. I'm not sure why that police are so worried about this. It's almost like Loomis brainwashed them.
  6. So you're saying it would be a better outcome if the victim's brand new Honda was returned with 144 bullet holes and blood stains?
  7. I just hope he doesn't end up with Baltimore or Cinci.

Ohioans keep voting against their own interest. Read the entire thread.
  9. I was in highschool or maybe my freshman year of CSU. I used to walk over to the square to check on the progress, then also the progress of the then "Society Center" rising above public square. It was a big deal that it was going to be taller than Terminal Tower.
  10. I've been waiting for this post for 30 years!
  11. I was there. THE highlight of the night was Eminem doing "Rock the Bells" with LL Cool J. LL also made sure to acknowledge the debts that hip hop owes rock n roll for the use of samples etc. Very classy.

You must not live in Cleveland. The city doesn't "function." It reacts. To everything. Even the most basic services require constituents begging their council people to get things done. I am voting for Bibb in the hopes that he cleans house and tries to change the status quo.

Or like Keven Kelley blowing off a bus ride in favor of a SUV to a public transit advocacy group meeting. No politician is perfect. But we do know 100% Kevin Kelley has been sitting on his hands for the past 8 years as council president, afraid to rock the boat. Courage has been long absent in city hall. Bibb is at least showing the courage to challenge the status quo.
  15. Not everyone's 😜
  16. I just got home from there. Cleveland was shining! We should be proud to have one of the finest arenas in North America!
  17. I would take it one step further and include an actual working replica of said traffic light.
  18. Hi Ken the Neo-Trans link isn't working.
  19. Yes the 49% rate in Germany is really not that much higher than all the taxes we pay....with excellent healthcare included.
  20. I've been to Maries but I can't remember if they have food? I just had drinks there. It's not in Cleveland, but I've always liked the restaurant at the Croatian Lodge in Eastlake, Dubrovnik Gardens. You won't find any hipsters here, mostly older Croat folks eating with family. I think they close early as well. https://dubrovnikgardens.croatianlodge.com
  21. Actual news about a flight being added at Hopkins that they turned into a clickbait piece about Burke that says nothing new.

Tis a wee pot o' gold, somewhere near da Medical Mart lad! ☘️
  23. Weather and taxes are huge issues to the mass of baby boomers currently retired or about to retire. This demographic alone is helping the south. Using my family as a sample, I have my parents and most of my aunts and uncles moved to North Carolina and Tennessee within the last 5 years from Ohio.
  24. Say what you want about him, he was entertaining at times. I only fear what kind of race-to-the-bottom it will be to fill his void and capture his audience.
