Of course....Kelley's core base is the remaining white CPD and CFD employees who haven't already moved out to Brunswick.
  2. It would be great if our Great Lakes politicians were focused on these kinds of investments rather than worry about what gender sign is on a restroom or accepting bribes from fossil fuel corporations.
  3. Speaking of housing in the area, I was at the Case Dental School the other day and upon leaving I stumbled across this lovely little Newton Street tucked in behind the apartments on the north side of Chester. What a hidden gem!

I saw this posted on a Cleveland-centric Facebook page earlier and thought it was interesting: A Ship Graveyard in Lake Erie https://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/images/148990/a-ship-graveyard-in-lake-erie?fbclid=IwAR39S_U7gVj3zcjIWmOdkJojBbq5QqgqqtIhTzfBofLWtIgQQzFy1MGqvMY
  5. On W 6th? If so it's very good. Not mind blowing, but very good. If you go make sure to get the home made warm pita bread with the sesame dipping sauce.

Gee I really do like this mix of racist, anti-immigrant, white-nationalist and anti-democratic songs I'm hearing! Play me more!
  7. I'm sure the Ohio GOP will incorporate this into their campaign literature....

When I started seeing more and more of them in my Cleveland westside neighborhood I felt bad for these people driving around in the suburbs. Im sure more than one cop followed them after seeing the orange plate from a distance!

New York came out with the awful orange and blue plate that looks like an Ohio DUI plate from afar. They lasted the full 10 years of residents complaining about them. I think it was a ploy to get everyone there to buy the more expense custom and vanity plates.
  10. There was just a news helicopter hovering over there. Hopefully we get some footage soon.

Swing and a miss! The party of anti-science keeps up its streak!
  12. The kind of "socialism" that the GOP seems to get behind...
  13. Confirmed. I drove by last night and the furniture was all gone.
  14. When growing up I would always hear my friends dads saying the were "employee owned" but they were probably just referring to their stock holdings (which may have been greater way back then). I also remember one of the dads getting super drunk at a Geauga Lake company picnic, but that is an entirely different story...
  15. Right--however I think they give out lots of bonuses to rank-and-file employees in the form of stock. Not sure what the percentage is currently.
  16. Isn't Lincoln Electric employee-owned?
  17. I grew up on the east side with lots of my friends fathers working there and it was always THE place to work. Maybe of my friends from high school followed in their footsteps and work there now as well.
  18. Ouch. I feel like with all the injuries we were watching the season end today. Hoping they can turn it around!
  19. With the center lanes BRT, couldn't it be converted to streetcar in the future? Of course they won't spend the money for the substructure and additional concrete etc, but the station infrastructure could be used?
  20. Great idea! It would also help connect main Cleveland tourist attractions including museums, Severance, and the Zoo.

This may be true, if only because council is content to maintain the status quo over their little fiefdoms. They don't want new ideas or 21st century thinking. They want to come to the rescue of their constituents by getting the city to fulfill the basic services it should already do without having to contact one's member of council.
  22. I was just there 2 weeks ago and actually walked around on Broadway and went to a few bars. If you're worried about covid, this is not the place for you. No masks, no distancing, no Effs given. Also pro tip: If you're going to Tootsies, enter through the alley behind it by the Ryman. Never a line.

Kelly has been President of Council for 7 years, oversaw a .5% tax increase to "improve services" and I still can't get my street swept once a month and city-owned lots around me mowed. Sounds to me like Kelly has experience...the kind of bad experience that contributes the glacier that is city hall....
  24. I don't disagree. I like the idea of having them on buses and trains also. The people not paying fares are gonna keep not paying fares is what I'm sayin...
