Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
If properly tied in with and marketed as a part of the Casino experience, parking could be free. Especially if a huge parking structure was a component of a second phase river view site. I have been to outlets at casinos around the country, and most include a parking structure attached to accommodate both shoppers and gamblers. Note the huge structure in the fore of this pic of Foxwoods in Connecticut. In the case of Cleveland, such a destination would benefit from gamblers, office workers, downtown residents and Amtrak travelers. Bedrock should certainly give the idea a look.

Airline Industry News and Discussion
Well this will go over well with the Karens who had issues with masks.... U.S. Airlines May Start Weighing Passengers At The Gate by Gary Leff on May 13, 2021 U.S. airlines may need to start weighing passengers in order to comply with FAA rules. For safety reasons, carriers need to calculate an aircraft’s weight and balance, and it has to be within allowable limits for the plane. However the assumptions they’ve been using for passengers are outdated. Americans are getting fatter, and the federal government wants airlines to find out how much fatter their passengers have gotten, at least for smaller aircraft. https://viewfromthewing.com/u-s-airlines-may-start-weighing-passengers-at-the-gate/

Ohio Navigable Waterways (non-Great Lakes)
Probably true--but I'm also told by the boating community that it's gotten worse in recent years mostly due to bridge orders coming from a centralized dispatch in Michigan. There are times when an hour goes by with no train, and they are sitting there inside waiting.

That was before there was a casino garage. Add in Phase 2 with more parking ramps and suddenly you have a couple thousand spaces, attached and covered.

Cleveland Metroparks: The Emerald Necklace
I disagree--the Metroparks have had solid and consistent maintenance since as long as I can remember as a young child. The City of Cleveland is the exact opposite. They have more than enough manpower to maintain their property, but the toxic environment between rank and file and management makes for a dysfunctional workplace. One of the starkest examples is near you at West Blvd and Lake Ave. The northwest and southwest corners are maintained by private owners (even though it is city-owned property). The Northeast is maintained by the Metroparks. All three corners are well groomed and kept nice. The southeast corner is constantly overgrown and strewn with litter--and yes you can guess that the City of Cleveland maintains that patch.

The Future of America and Its Cities
Good luck trying to file this kind of return with CCA or RITA. Their own employees don't even understand the regs, let alone the taxpayer.

Ohio Navigable Waterways (non-Great Lakes)
These would be a hard sell to most area boaters who don't want to be imprisoned by the NS rail bridge at the mouth. We need to regain local control of the bridge operation. I'd be surprised Olde River Yacht Club hasn't lost members over the issue.

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
I keep bringing this back around, but Bedrock should make an outlet mall happen. These are synonymous with casinos around the country, and could also provide much needed downtown shopping options for residents. The addition of Amtrak and train travelers would only enhance the foot traffic.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
I would think so. They are actually south of the centerline of the departure end of the 24R runway. And they are lower than the stadium at the end of the 24L runway. The BKL obstacle departure procedure already includes an immediate right turn out over the lake, and there is no instrument approach procedure to the 6 runways (other than circling from 24R). So while the FAA would have to sign off on this plan, I don't see any major obstacles to implementing it outside of the normal chart and ODP updates.

Cleveland Mayoral Race 2021
He also promised an increase in city services with the 1/2% tax increase in 2017. I don't think I'm alone in saying I haven't seen much of an uptick....

Metro Cleveland: Road & Highway News
Much needed, but then again the bumps and ruts act as a speed restrictors. Once repaved and smooth it will become another commuter super-speedway! It always makes me nervous driving eastbound passing all the parked cars....

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Who are your four losses? This Browns team will be as good as they let themselves be. All the pieces are in place.

MLB: General News & Discussion
I doubt Portland would every pony up any public money for a stadium. Nashville and Charlotte are the 2 non MLB growth markets that I can think of.

Ohio General Assembly
Does the Ohio GOP take any ownership of their responsibility of making sure Ohio is flyover country?

Hey now! Our teams records are similar! 😜

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
This actually makes the current lakefront site more attractive, where it could be attached to the convention center. The only question would be where do the Browns play while it's being built? Ohio State?

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
Checked the Ohio SOS site. Marvelish is a LLC registered to Christopher Allen. I have heard he is opening a coffee shop, so it must be his dba name. Fans of 90's Cleveland alt rock will remember him as one of the singer/guitarists for the band Rosavelt.

I doubt that since the red carpet was located directly in front of the RRHOF on the plaza.

Housing Market & Trends
🙄😜🙄 Even if they did, the city would be so far behind your house contract today would have to have a 5 year contingency.

General: Complete Streets, Road Diets, and Traffic Calming
I don't disagree, but also have read that having no traffic on certain city streets was detrimental to local businesses. Main St in downtown Buffalo was opened to traffic again after decades of only having streetcars and pedestrians. It has breathed some new life and activity into the street with meter spots serving local businesses.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
Agreed--in fact in busy UK cities with roundabouts, there are always pedestrian under/over passes otherwise pedestrians would never stand a chance!
