I just don't think women nerd-out as much on the contents of this here forum as much as men. They are interested, but not to the degree we are. Maybe UO needs to buy some female-targeted advertising?

Cleveland: Cleveland Clinic News & Info
I think it has mostly to do with where the old money was and the teaching hospitals were established. With this being said, Cleveland Clinic is expanding into south Florida, so someday....

Cleveland: Mayor Frank Jackson
Just saw this announcement on City of Cleveland Facebook. Maybe Frank will announce candidacy for another term? It's at 5:30 pm, so he'll be nearing his bedtime.... Please join Mayor Frank G. Jackson on Wednesday, March 10th at 5:30 p.m. for a conversation on public safety, COVID-19 vaccines and more. On the night of the event, registered participants will receive a phone call. Just answer the call to enter the telephone town hall. If you are unable to participate by phone but would like to listen during or after, tune in on the City of Cleveland’s Facebook page where the call will be livestreamed. https://vekeo.com/mayorfrankjackson/

Cleveland Public Schools: News and Discussion
This really makes no sense. Cleveland teachers are fighting going back into the classroom to teach there citing health and safety concerns. But they are going to be alone in the classroom, with no students initially. I'm sure none of them are leaving their homes, and staying out of restaurants, bars and shops as well 🙄 Cleveland Teachers Union votes to remain with remote learning in spite of district mandating return CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Teachers Union voted to remain with remote learning on Thursday night, in spite of the district saying hybrid learning will begin on March 8. Cleveland Metropolitan School District CEO Eric Gordon mandated that all teachers are to return to their assigned work sites on Monday to teach remotely. No students are scheduled to report in-person on Monday and all classes are scheduled to continue virtually. https://www.news5cleveland.com/cleveland teachers union votes to remain with remote learning in spite of district mandating return?fbclid=IwAR0gkMIb2lBZaKHVzBXjp6PvncsDWUsaYbj5L2LtKKoMleQ0O1v5vaMK9-s

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
I can't imagine the wait staff was making all that much when the average check is like $9. I used to take my kids there, we'd get 3 meals and a couple milkshakes for the kids and it was like $15.

Cleveland: Random Development and News
I was listening to Alan Cox on WMMS for a few minutes driving around this afternoon and they were talking about an eventual move downtown next year.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Meh I'd rather see some younger talent become part of a Browns identity, rather than an old veteran sign on for short term glory.

It's ok. If you undress them they are already gender neutral.

Cleveland: Historic Photos
It certainly runs contrary to the modern mindset by some that "buses do not belong on Public Square."
-
Cleveland: General Business & Economic News
I have seen rumours posted on Facebook sites with former IX employees saying the ownership have every intention of opening up again with shows and the entire shutdown was just a ploy for Federal aid money. Sounds plausible.

Cleveland Hopkins International Airport
To compete with other similar-sized airports, the rental car facility should be moved into the current short term parking ramp and a new ramp constructed where the old long term one was (current "orange" lot). If there was money and political will for it, maybe a new airport hotel could sit atop this garage? The Sheraton is awful tired.

The Great USA / World Photo Thread
Considering there were no tall buildings in London until the last 20 years or so it's still a work in progress.

What is Club Azteca? Honestly I don't think I've ever noticed it before.

Not the greatest photo due to facing into the sun, but I saw these moving southbound on the tracks this morning next to CLE Hopkins being pulled by a NS locomotive. They look European.

Cleveland: Random Development and News
It most certainly is the better solution. The problem is the City of Cleveland doesn't eliminate jobs and there are probably 3-4 people sitting at a desk waiting for the phone to ring that handle rentals (something that could easily be handled by one person for both facilities).

Cleveland: Random Development and News
iI's tough for the city to compete against Playhouse Square, who are real venue managers and promoters, with similar sized rooms.

Cleveland: Random Development and News
It's a shame there are not more shows there. I saw The Red Hot Chilipeppers, Smashing Pumpkins and Pearl Jam there in 91 (or maybe 92?). One of the greatest shows ever!
-
Other States: Passenger Rail News
Agreed. And I'm ok with it! I love how they are just stuck in the middle of a freight train. Clearly they are riding on some sort of transport understructure.

If you listened to Mike Trivassano this afternoon on WTAM, you would have thought you were in North Korea. It was really remarkable.
