  1. I imagine those west facing upper units will have some amazing views of downtown!
  2. I went to the GLSC last month to see the body worlds exhibition and IMO it's feeling tired and dated. What if the Rock Hall took over and remodeled the Science Center, and move them to the new Lerner development on the Lakefront? This would give the Rock Hall way more property for future expansion.

Very true. And a good chunk of the wealthy and successful, but not billionaires, are grabbing places in Idaho, Wyoming etc to escape the CA Franchise tax board, but are actively seeking "downsized" homes in Southern California areas outside LA (Palm Springs, Santa Barbara, Calabassas). The reality is the baby boomers are all moving into retirement and cashing out of of their homes they raised their kids in. Conservative media is turning this into something more than it actually is...
  4. Agreed--no transfers requiring negotiations with an RTA employee questioning the age of my kids!
  5. You must go see the Gloria Estefan "On Your Feet!". The touring version in Cleveland I'm sure would move into your top position! 🤢🤣 Back to the rails....
  6. It was really only in the last maybe 15 years that Cleveland teams started using "Cleveland" on their jerseys. For years it was just the team name (or in the Browns case, nothing at all).

Great stuff! Incredible density--especially right up along the river. Adding an embedded link. Aerial footage starts about 9:50 for those interested:
  8. I didn't understand their arguments on parking, which seemed to be centered around guests. Do they fear a non-stop party? 🤦‍♂️
  9. Not a bad idea to use cruise ships--if we had a guarantee of an ice free Lake Erie one winter or someone was willing to pony up to park the boats here from November through April.
  10. We're going to need "a few more" hotel rooms. 😃
  11. I was driving on West Blvd when the Cleveland police responded to this, en masse and quickly with lights and sirens blaring. Cudos to the brave neighbors who tackled the guy as he was running away.
  12. This is in line with most arena/stadium rental deals. There is usually a cap on it, so if the city is getting a full 8%, that is a good deal (for the city)
  13. From this morning's Fresh Water MAGNET move to Midtown could be a step toward job creation, industry connections Modern manufacturing is hounded by persistent myths—namely that the industry is a poor career choice unless you enjoy toiling away on a dirty and dangerous factory floor. Leaders at the Manufacturing Advocacy and Growth Network (MAGNET) are ready for a round of myth-busting upon a forthcoming move to a former Cleveland school building. After purchasing the Margaret Ireland School building from the Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD), MAGNET will use its new headquarters as high-tech inspiration for a sector now providing stable careers in a clean and innovative environment. https://www.freshwatercleveland.com/features/MAGNETMove121020.aspx?utm_source=Emma&utm_medium=Email&utm_term=MAGNET+move+to+Midtown+could+be+a+step+toward+job+creation%2c+industry+connections&utm_content=Mobile+Newsletter&utm_campaign=MAGNET's+Midtown+move%2c+First-time+CAC+grantees%2c+Bottoms+up%2c+Sweet+victory%2c+Pour+pivot%2c+and+more
  14. Clearly OBJ has been shopping during his injury down time!
  15. St Vincents doesn't fit the Cleveland Clinic model. Way too many poor people and Medicaid. If they did buy them, it may just be to keep the ambulances and Medicaid cases there and away from the shiny main campus.
  16. It's a shame they aren't changing the width between 117th and Clifton. With the cars parked on the South side there isn't much clearance so most people drive partially in the turning lane anyway.
  17. You also missed this house on Edgewater, which was featured in the (barely watchable) Bruce Willis movie "Acts of Violence" filmed largely in Cleveland. https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/10001-Edgewater-Dr-Cleveland-OH-44102/33325827_zpid/
  18. Can anyone with a Cleveland.com subscription give us a synopsis?
  19. You're probably right. It will be a free property clearing for Haslem to then move in and put a development there.
  20. Even more so when the Malls are attached to a perfectly fine venue (Public Hall) that has hosted the Rock Hall Inductions, etc.
  21. They better dust off a million square feet of an unused IX Center as a backup...
  22. I remember in the aftermath of September 11 business travel was gutted and everyone said it would never come back. Some convention business did suffer, but ultimately the airlines returned to record passenger loads and profits.
  23. Would it even have to be 2 track in little ole Cleveland? Could just be a one way loop and they could put in shuttle buses when maintenance is necessary. We are very used to that here.
  24. You probably have many many "cousins" from the Robin Hood! 🤣
