  1. I'm surprised with that kind of investment that they don't try to re-route the trains from the west through there. Or it would have been really nice to return trains to the old Central Terminal! 😀
  2. I'm really surprised Texas isn't on this list. I personally know about 3-4 families who moved to Dallas and Houston in the last few years.
  3. Which train stops there? Any time I have taken Amtrak to Buffalo my only option is Depew.
  4. So frustrating. It will take a long time to root out the rubber stamp mindset of "anything that is being built in the city gets a pass". I was hoping with the likes of Anita Brindza and Dona Brady going away the mindset would change, but it seems to hang on.
  5. Another reason to keep the jail downtown ;)
  6. Agreed--I have at least two friends who gave up their apartments only because they had other homes (one in Boston, one in Upstate NY) to work from so they are saving the money until the pandemic ends, in which case they have every intention of returning and finding another city crash pad.
  7. They should all go to a bubble to finish the rest of the season. It may not end well for the NFL...
  8. When I drove by BKL today there were big crews working in the parking lot. From the Shoreway I couldn't tell, but they appeared to be installing new underground utilities. Perhaps new lighting? Hopefully they are going to redo the entire lot--it's getting pretty run down.
  9. And now Myles Garret for a couple weeks and Denzel Ward for_____________? If they can make adjustments and keep winning, it is a great sign. The Browns of old would have quit and started talking "next year".
  10. We've also had some brutal weather at home the last 3 games (and no Odell Beckham, who is a serious running threat as we saw in Dallas).
  11. Don't worry--there will be plenty of people from in-town traveling at highway speed. On my morning trips to the Clinic via Chester I routinely have people passing me doing 60-70 mph.
  12. The last 3 home games would have been nice. But then again with Chubb/Hunt leading the offense, maybe the Browns should be hoping for more bad weather!
  13. I ended up with the Browns D in my Fantasy league today. They scored 21 for me with the takeaways. Can't wait for Myles for return--but today wasn't bad!
  14. I finally watched the Bruce Willis movie filmed here in Cleveland "Acts of Violence." Great shots of Cleveland, but one of the worst movies I've ever seen! Horrible acting and writing!
  15. It is truly sad that our government is just letting these kinds of cultural establishments die with no assistance at all. Politicians and defense contractors are getting paid...so all is good in their worlds.
  16. Off topic for a second--has anyone ever done one of these walking tours?
  17. Great to see Cleveland and Lakewood on a national cable network. Congrats to Darren & Kate (nice people as well!)
  18. I love that they left the jersey barriers on the square....
  19. Here is a link to it as well: https://websrvor15.gcrta.org:8000/OA_HTML/OA.jsp?page=/oracle/apps/irc/candidateSelfService/webui/VisVacDispPG&OAHP=IRC_EXT_SITE_VISITOR_APPL&OASF=IRC_VIS_VAC_DISPLAY&akRegionApplicationId=821&transactionid=434562103&retainAM=N&addBreadCrumb=RP&p_svid=23247&p_spid=1160007&oapc=14&oas=KGek7hMkKpLXnf6qDAvxTg..
  20. I wonder if it's a ploy by the builder...ask for 6 stories then "settle" for 4?
  21. Do you really think they would be RKO? Or just a flying slap on the wrist?
  22. It would be great to see this built, and the fares taken care of by a major corporate sponsor. Make it free and include late night hours on weekends to ensure success.
  23. I wouldn't place any bets on that. I was also at a meeting for the Brickhaus townhomes where the old church stood. A couple that lives next door to the 75 unit apartment building was arguing that the townhomes would create too much density on a street with single family homes. 🤦‍♂️
  24. I was at a BZA meeting a few years ago when a new owner of 9803 Lake wanted to operate it as a Bed & Breakfast (again). The NIMBYs on the street were going absolutely ape$hit over that proposal (they might 4 guests overnight which will generate more traffic than the street can handle!) When they see this 6 story structure and this many units, their heads are going to explode.
  25. If Nick Chubb is the smartest guy on the planet, then this guy must be the dumbest! 😀 I feel like I saw him in the Barley House video from the other night as well, shotgunning Bud Lights with a pocket full of flunitrazepam and no mask in sight.
