Cleveland: Steelyard Commons
Developer likes urban big-box stores February 09, 2008 15:54 EST CLEVELAND (AP) -- The developer of a shopping center built at the site of a former steel plant is out to prove that big-box retail stores can thrive in urban neighborhoods -- not just the suburbs. Steelyard Commons is a 125 million-dollar redevelopment project. It opened last February with a Home Depot store on a piece of industrial property west of downtown once considered almost useless. Target was the next major retailer, followed by a Wal-Mart Supercenter and others. Site developer First Interstate Properties says traffic at Steelyard Commons is averaging 350,000 to 400,000 cars a month. While the early returns seem good, the project isn't finished. Nearly 20 prime acres at Steelyard Commons await development, and other challenges remain. http://www.fox45.com/template/inews_wire/wires.regional.oh/2282de3e-www.daytonsnewssource.com.shtml So what is everyone's overall thought about this project? I hope this is something that Dayton can follow suit with at the proposed Parkside Apartments redevelopment.

University of Dayton Flyers Athletics Discussion
I'm sure when all is said and done, the season will be totally blamed on injuries and health. But a team cannot rely solely on two star players and expect to win all season long. The truth be told, no one simply stepped up in their place, moral went down and now they are in trouble.

What will YOU do with your fiscal stimulus check?
Oh good, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't the only one that believed this. On that note, I think I'm going to spend mine on a Blue-ray player :-D

What will YOU do with your fiscal stimulus check?
Am I the only one that sees this rebate as a disaster?? I mean seriously, our national debt is already screwed up enough and this is only going to sink it further. Yea, so everyone is going to splurge for a week or two. So how is that supposed to help our economy? After everyone spends their rebate checks, we are back into the same situation...but this time with more national debt. This is not a permanent fix. If the government wants to fix our econoimy, instead of throwing away free money, how about doing something about stopping our jobs from going over the borders, illegal immigration, job loss, and allow more U.S. drilling to lower our gas prices? I'm sorry that I want to burst everyone's rebate check, but I cannot believe that our politicians are this stupid. This is not going to energize our economy. It's just going to let everyone jump on that new I-Phone, Wii or Blue-ray player, or pay a few bills off...and then we'll just go right back to where we were before...being broke and not spending.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
Naw. I've diagram'd both and they are not similar in anyway except maybe the setbacks which exist on about 50% of today's buildings. The comparison to Chrysler is not in the looks department, just in the architectural style between the two. QCS looks good, but does not even come close to Chrysler, which IMO is the best looking building in the world.

Am I the only consistently positive person in Cincinnati?
I agree. Not too mention, being too opimistic could be a bad thing. If I looked at the paint on my wall and it was faded or chipped and I said "Hell, that wall looks great! I don't think I'll ever need to touch it up!", then how would it ever look better? You need negativity in life. I'm not saying a lot...but just a enough to make people take some action.

Why you should always use SEALED plastic cups at hotels
I clean the hotel before I leave. At least I pick up and leave things in a nice little pile. I NEVER leave a hotel "partied out". Actually, I don't think I've ever even partied in my room. I usually do that in someone else's room and make it their problem.
