Columbus: Downtown Developments and News
Wow. I don't know how I missed this entire thread (probably because I tend to ignore Columbus threads), but I just went through this entire thread and I am pleased to say, this is a really nice project! It's good to see that you can reuse an older building like this without tearing it down and yet be able to blend it in with new construction this way. I may just have o make a trip to Columbus soon and check this out in person!

For Dayton, Montgomery County and the western 1/4 of Greene County.

Dead Malls
I find it amazing that the indoor mall is dying in the colder climates. I understand why Arizona, Southern Cali, Florida and other similar states would go outdoor, but when you are Ohio and you have cold and snow 30% of the year, I just can't see it. But I guess with the success of the Greene in Beavercreek with 2 enclosed malls within a 10 minute drive just shows the indoor malls just don't have it anymore, even in colder climates.

Metro Dayton: Road & Highway News
As the article stated, the eastbound section opened up almost right on time. I happened to be coming from Greenville, so I decided to check it out (even knowing is was gonna be smack in the middle of rush hour) for the first time without any construction in the way. I have to say, I really like the reconfiguration. I drove through right at 5:30 which is close to peak congestion on eastbound 35 especially right around the Steve Whalen exit. I was very surprised! Only a few break lights and traffic moved right along at 55-60 all the way up to Smithville Rd. Even though there is still a full lane shift to the left, it is a much earlier transition and much smoother. The new wall gives it a very different feel and the new center wall mounted lights are so much better than the old side mounted ones. Complaints: I still think the left side ramps should have been removed removed, but I also don't see it being such a big problem now. I'm also not sure of this statement from the above article. Is this to be a part of the upcoming ITS system around Dayton?
