Pretty much everyone's foreclosure rate is in the toilet right now. However, Vegas is the number one growing city in the U.S. in percentage of population growth, Phoenix in total population growth. Those desert cities are doing something right. I'm sure it's not the summer heat.

Casino's and resorts are a huge industry. Add to that year round tourism and it equals a pretty big chunk of change which leads to growth. Too bad Ohio just can't seem to figure this one out. Pass a law that allows casino's to be built and Ohio would gain a bit back. Out of curiosity, you have been to Vegas, right?
  3. Well, video animations really don't do justice. When I first seen the animation for Maverick in Cedar Point, I was like "that's just dumb". It is now my second fav coaster out there. lol. I do admit it looks bland, but according to sources, it will make extensive use of the landscape like Beast does. Supposedly, there will actually be a section that dips in the ravine 'under' the railroad bridge! That sounds pretty good. So I guess we have to wait for a year and see. I hate waiting ;-)
  4. Been a while since any news has been posted aboout KI, so here goes.... First off, many many ride name changes... Drop Zone is now Drop Tower Italian Job = Backlot Stunt Track Top Gun = Flight Deck Tomb Raider = the Crypt Days of Thunder = Thunder Alley (that little go kart thingy) Congo Falls = Amazon Falls (the original name) Action FX Theater = Action Theater (still showing Spongebob this year) Face Off = Invertigo I think that's it for name changes. Other park changes will be... Festhaus will again be hosting shows with 2 this year, the Country Line and Girl’s Night Out. The new KI website is now www.visitkingsisland.com A Cinnabon will open on International Street. The new sign is up And now for the bigger news. The Racers are running ....'GASP'...only forwards this year! No backwards train...which I'm really pissed about. The former Premier trains on the Beast go bye bye and the Gerstlauer trains from the Villian now call Beast home. Meanwhile, Son of Beast gets a third Gerstlauer train from Raging Wolf Bobs. And now for the finale. Video is floating around the internet for Mustang, the new B&M Hyper for 2009...and it looks sweet! You can see the video below. I love how it will go over Swan Lake. This looks like it will bring new life to Rivertown. Rumored specs are... Height 225 ft Drop 210ft Length 5,000+ Speed 80+ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtg3qm0Wiy8 That's all I have for now. *Whew*

^---It's actually much taller now since they lowered the height of QCS to 660. I based that diagram off 689. Guess it's time to make a new one :-( Edit: After doing a quick calculation, QCS will now be about 201 meters, which on that graph will be about the height of the Carew flagpole. That actually kinda.....sucks.

Ahh yes! Pac-Man! The game of all games. The great thing about Pac-Man was you could play forever on one quarter if you knew the pattern LOL. Never played Super Pac-Man though.
  15. Wow guys. Sometimes it's not easy for parents to pay for college tuition. College is very expensive. When I went to college, I never asked my parents to help. I helped myself with student loans, grants, scholarships and jobs. If your parents (or grandparents) can help out out or offer, then that's great. But just to assume that it is their financial responsibility almost borders selfishness IMO. They've got themselves to think about too. To expect them to just pony up the costs could be a financial strain...especially in today's world. Go easier on your parents. They took care of ya for at least 18 years. That's a long time.

  22. McLin to tout Moraine on Detroit trip Plant's workers just need a chance to prove their worth to GM, regional leaders say. By Thomas Gnau Staff Writer Wednesday, March 12, 2008 MORAINE — Give workers at General Motors' last Dayton-area plant a product to build, and they'll do a good job building it, says David Hicks, Moraine city manager. It's exactly that message that Hicks and 23 other area government officials plan to take to GM executives Thursday, March 13. Among those slated to go to Pontiac and Detroit, Mich., that day: Rhine McLin, mayor of Dayton, and Joe Tuss, assistant Montgomery County administrator. It's more than a bus trip, Hicks told Dayton Daily News editors Tuesday. It's regionalism at work. ... http://www.daytondailynews.com/b/content/oh/story/business/2008/03/11/ddn031208gm.html

  25. Wow. It's bought time SF builds something big. Big projects like this have developed at a crawl over the last decade. Viva San Francisco! Edit: What's the total height on this?
