Ok, an entire thread on oops. Let's examine the word oops, shall we? Definition: oops (ps) interj. Used to express acknowledgment of a minor accident, blunder, or mistake. In other words, Thomas screwed up this thread and decided to cover his arse. Examples: 1. Oops! I did it again! 2. Is this the button I push? (Long pause, loud explosion). Oops! Not that I hate suburbs, but honestly, it's about time the trend reversed. Urban cores have been dying for decades and it's about time that they see a second life.

Well, I think she pretty much sealed her fate with Ohio voters...I'm hoping.

Obama actually snickered on that one. So did I. That was just a dumb comment all together.

^---My thoughts exactly. I'm starting to think just being the first woman president is more her main goal. I mean, yea, that's an accomplishment, but I'm more concerned about this country's well being right now.
  7. Does anyone in Cinci City Council actually visit UO? Maybe they will see my revision and say "whoa!" ;-)

I think Hilary really dodged around a lot of questions...
  9. Good shots J! If I knew you were coming up, I would have went with you!
  10. ok, since there is no new news on QCS, I got a little creative and decided to give her a makeover as to what i think could be a possible revision to the tower. I must say, I really like my revision. It sure makes QCS look much slimmer which is why I think this is a big possibility. I also feel it makes the crown look MUCH better and more like part of the structure. It's just a quick hack job. I tried to keep the base similar to 303 Broadway which is why I didn't slim it all the way down. Let me know what you guys think. The current proposal... My revision...

Thanks. Sorry about your loss too. It's amazing how attached you can get to a pet.

Cute pics! Here's my cats. Unfortunately the big fat one on the left passed away last year. Had him for 12 years. He was a great cat.
  16. The beds are quite wild I might add. Good pics though!

^---How many parks does Cincinnati have? I didn't ever get a chance to get to much of them when I was living down there.
  18. Next time the Mega Millions gets that size, we need to do an Urban Ohio lottery pull! That's gotta be like....at least 57 tickets!

Here's one of my favorites. For anyone that loved Tim Conway!
  20. If I would have won the mega millions Friday, this is the first thing I would have done. Bought Centre City, restored the facade and copper roof, then rehabbed it into apartments and lived in the Penthouse on the top floor! :-D
  21. Jeffrey, I agree that what you say about Tech Town in it will be similar to Research Park and any spec development, but only in the type of jobs that will end up there. But the similarities end there. There will be so much more that Tech Town can offer that Research Park cannot offer and I'm gambling that Ballpark Village is going to capitalize on this. I'm sure the City of Dayton is more than fully aware of how Tech town and BPV will just be a perfect match. This is what's going to set it apart from any suburban office park.
  22. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the Admiral Benbow demolished in order to be utilized as part of the RTA Transit Center? I do not see anything in the plans above utilizing the former hotel's space.
  23. That would be MUCH more realistic and cost effective option than trying to get it on the Miami, plus Mad River has more rough water to it anyway making it a much better Kayak environment.
  24. I service computers in almost every building in Research Park and let me just say they are some of the worst designed buildings I have been in. Not easy to find your way around, main entrances are not where they should be, poor parking, doors that you cannot figure out which direction they should open (I'm not kidding on this!), poor handicap access and many other things. Research Park is horribly designed. Other than the fact it is sprawl at it's finest, the road infrastructure is a maze, each building eats up way too much green space, the buildings are not very eye pleasing, and most of the buildings are half vacant outside of Reynolds, Kodak and Woolpert. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the jobs that Research Park has landed. But they could have used 1/3 of the land for the limited number of companies that have set up shop there. Tech Town will redevelop brown space, be compact in design and be pleasing to the eyes, not to mention bring hundreds (if not thousands) of jobs to the urban core. To think that Tech Town should only be built in order to save an 82 year old manufacturing plant that has suffered weather damage and vandalism for the last 30 years is blind sightedness. Don't get me wrong, if they can save it, I am all for it. I think it could be an incredible redevelopment. But only if it's cost effective. There is much more to Tech Town than saving Frigidaire. If that's the whole point of redevelopment, then why bother with Ballpark Village, Deeds Point, UD's redevelopment plan or anything else in Dayton?
