  1. Akronym Brewing plans biergarten for downtown Akron in old Commerce Park Craig Webb Akron Beacon Journal Liz Greising, who handles marketing for the brewery, said Akronym had hoped to have the biergarten up and running by the end of this month, but transforming the space that has sat pretty much empty since its previous life as an urban community garden has been a bit more complicated than expected. First they had to iron out a lease for the space with the city. Next came the planning for the outdoor bar that will have up to four taps and be able to serve some mixed drinks. Then there's the whole matter of running electricity to the urban space and figuring out things like drainage as it is pretty muddy as of late. https://www.beaconjournal.com/story/news/2021/05/12/akronym-brewing-plans-open-beirgarten-downtown-akron/5019101001/

  3. This is a new infill house in Highland Square on Casterton Ave. First infill I've seen in a long time. I believe this was actually a lot split from the adjacent property.
  4. The old building wasn't anything special. It did have some of the most dangerous stairs I've encountered in a public space. Watched many slip and slide down the beer soaked carpeted steps from the restrooms. The new building design....ehhh....

  6. What stores in Montrose? Only one of decent size I can think of is JC Penny which is right next to Home Depot. I still don't think that would be the correct size or roof height for a Menards.
  7. All they need is some of dem blueprints. Really isn't that hard, right?

Goodrich plant in Akron Jim Mackinnon Akron Beacon Journal A $40 million residential redevelopment project is gutting and rebuilding much of the mammoth interiors of Canal Place buildings 10-17 that run along South Main Street. Workers are cutting holes through 10-inch-thick concrete slab floors to make openings for plumbing and wiring. Rows of exposed massive concrete columns holding up the floors are being incorporated into the interior designs. Interior metal framing is going up that shows the outlines of the apartments. 23. I'm not trying to steer dialogue of this topic. I am curious though if there is any credence to people not coming back to an office building for SW. As someone who works in a team environment, it is not as effective being remote. And, if the bottom line is shareholder appeasement, that would be detrimental.
