It's an affordable housing project which is partially funded through state tax credit allocation. Nobody is given housing through the state tax credit process. Projects are developed by housing developers. It's a long chain of parts and a process that if I tried to explain all the pieces and parts I would probably leave something out or state something incorrectly. But annually there are about 50 projects in the State of Ohio funded through this process. https://www.cleveland.com/akron/2017/08/testa_companies_to_build_new_h.html

I'm not sure that form based code was ever agreed to be adopted for that area. Cleveland has a website dedicated to form based code and so far Detroit Shoreway is the only area identified. https://thelandcode.com/

One more for C. Falls: Asterisk Coffee Bar to celebrate grand opening in Cuyahoga Falls this week Posted Oct 23, 6:30 AM By Anne Nickoloff, cleveland.com CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio -- Asterisk Coffee Bar is a new enterprise cooked up by the creators of Akron Coffee Roasters. The new Cuyahoga Falls cafe celebrates its grand opening this Thursday, after having been softly opened for a couple of months. Asterisk, located at 2101 Front Street, is just a 10-minute drive away from Akron Coffee Roasters, located at 30 North High Street in Akron. But because it’s technically located outside of Akron, it had to adopt a new name, said owner Albert Macso, a co-owner of the two cafes. https://www.cleveland.com/entertainment/2019/10/asterisk-coffee-bar-to-celebrate-grand-opening-in-cuyahoga-falls-this-week.html

Bath probably doesn't need its own thread, so I'm going to put this in Greater Akron. Development proposed for Bath Township site along Ghent, Cleveland-Massillon roads By Jody Miller / ABJ correspondent Posted Oct 21, 2019 at 11:31 AM Updated Oct 21, 2019 at 9:04 PM BATH – The third time may be the charm for development of the triangular-shaped parcel owned by Bath Township for the past nine years at Ghent and Cleveland-Massillon roads. Bath has a contract for the $390,000 purchase of that property from Tom Giltner of Stonemill Real Estate. Plans for the mixed-use development include a two-story, 22,000-square-foot building with a walk-out lower level. A wine bar and restaurant with outdoor dining will be the anchor tenant, according to William Funk, Bath planning director/zoning inspector. The building also could include offices among its tenants, he said. https://www.beaconjournal.com/news/20191021/development-proposed-for-bath-township-site-along-ghent-cleveland-massillon-roads?utm_source=akron-morning-roundup&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=20191022&utm_content=article5-headline

This is very interesting. Especially considering what is happening in California right now. "This is also the opportunity for us to be innovative and create something that has never been done to this scale before." I did a quick search and found that GE has a page for it but not much built work. Cleveland would be ideal to get some of those long dreamed of wind turbine farms going. https://www.gegridsolutions.com/PowerD/catalog/microgrid_smart_cities.htm

The University of Akron built a brand new football stadium on their urban campus. It cost about $60 million and did not have much demolition like this would. Oddly enough, the U of A announced a few years that the university as whole was in the hole about $60 million. That was with an established program.
