Haha, yea, like those exist. Do you find those more at Home Depot or Wally World? I will say that the aesthetics are nothing special, but that's a huge slap in the face to the planning, design, and detailing that goes into something like a stadium.

Nothing too exciting to me. The picture for Wrapz does not even look appetizing. Processed ham chunks with uncooked vegetables. It looks like someone had some grocery store party trays and they took the leftovers and put them in a pita shell.

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
I like it. It's a very utilitarian building, I assume dictated by the client/budget, but they did a decent job with the form and dressing it up. Not sure how long a detailed mural like that will last though. Looks like they did their homework on designing different seating layouts as well. The "Program Diagram" seems pretty worthless though.

They were appealing having to install a new elevator. All new elevators have to be able to fit a stretcher in them. That seems like a pretty easy appeal win to me. Cost would be exponential to make it work. There is a chapter in the building code that deals with existing buildings and cost to upgrade, among other things.

Their original Master Plan RFQ stated they wanted to "...reduce the density and renovate existing buildings or construct new dwelling units". City Architecture was awarded the study. I'm not sure of the outcome, but I think it's on their website. They use a crappy flash site so you can't like directly to the page. http://cityarch.com/ go to Portfolio / Urban Design There is a project for Campus District / E.22nd Plan and also one for Tri-C Metro Campus Public Space.

Plenty of parking for sure. I read somewhere though that it might just sit empty for years because Wal-Mart broke their lease and the developer is still going to make them pay for the space.

Actually it was: http://blog.cleveland.com/architecture/2012/10/did_csu_and_neomed_play_it_too.html For some reason people have a notion in their head that an initial design concept is a final product. Sorry, I meant that the site plan shown in the initial Pelli proposal bears no resemblance to the current scheme. Obviously the initial proposal means little, which is why it's probably not relevant that many folks here preferred that entry among all the finalists. I'm thinking they must have scaled the program back once they saw the return on investment. As part of the proposal process the team had to also present a business plan for the building and associated activities.
