Cleveland: Downtown: The Beacon
It is about the same height as Fed cths Tower. Size wise, it looks comparable to 5th Third. It is being built in the future. The 10 story parking garage is being built now.

Cleveland: Cleveland Museum of Art Expansion / Renovation
The museum of art expansion has begun. They worked up until winter and then shut down due to weather. Work is to resume in the spring. Most of the footers are in along with a slab on deck on the east side of the building.

Alot of times, before someone sells a building, they will get a design for air rights reasons. This basically means, lets desing something really tall and market this place as a potential tower. Sometimes the building can or cannot support that. But if it can, it was worth the $50,000 for the engineering.

Mostly architects and owners are the supliers of the information. Now that 18 story downtown is kind of like the Pinnacle where they would add on to a 4 story building. We will see how it evolves. There is so much stuff out there that never pans out. The positive aspect in the city however is the amount of large jobs (15 mill) that have been coming out in the past month. No one really saw this coming. Keep them coming and keep people working.

X, I work for an engineering firm. We subscribe to the Dodge reports. They are fairly expensive however and ussually, eng. firms and construction are only eligible for them. They tell you of upcoming projects, the status of them, the estimated dollar amount and a brief overview of the architecture. This is a big part of how we generate business.

I really think alot of good things are in store for the csu area. If you read the construction Dodge reports for that area, almost all the big downtown stuff (10 mill and up) are in that area. The rec center is a huge step forward, and we know that is getting built.

Butler County: Development and News
How does a developer make anything off 40% occupany. Maybe they think if they have a larger office complex that more people know about therefore, it will boost occupancy.

Butler County: Development and News
I always find it funny that if there is a demand for office space in the region, why isn't there a demand downtown. Just goes to show you how much people prefer parking lots, short walks to the office, cars over public trans.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
You can not pour concrete unless the temperature is 18 degrees and rising. Also, parking decks really do not have to be that thick to support the structure above it. They use post tension cables in the decks that will add stregnth to the deck without thickening the concrete. 10 levels in a year is actually pretty quick. Remember, they basically have to build the garage out of wood first (forms in the shape of beam pockets and tables) before they can pour. The 515 garage in Cleveland is only about 6 levels up and they started that last March. That does have thicker concrete to support the 20 story structure atop it however. Can someone help me out with that picture above. They should have steel up near the ground, but I can't see it. Maybe I am looking at the wrong structure.

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
I think, the only way we would see a new center is if they pass casino gaming. Everyone knows that the business is down everywhere. I know Cincy's is down 47 percent, St Louis is down along with New Orleanes, Indy, Chicago and LA. In DC, residents are paying 60 mill a year in lost convention business after investing $867 mill in a new center. What makes Cleveland any different.

A sign still stands for a project called "Ontario Point" at the intersection of Ontario and Huron. Does anyone know anything about this.
