Streetcars may return to Toledo
If I remember, UT is about 4-6 miles from downtown. I think the Monroe street plan is bad just because it does not go anywhere near campus. Door street would be best due to all the blight along that stretch. When I attended the University, I bartended at a bar on Door called Jakes Saloon. Basically, it was a hole in the wall bar where people went to get really drunk. They said when you walk into Jakes, kiss your sweet ass goodbye. Is that bar still there?

What Cleveland suburbs have the best downtowns?
Chagrin Falls and Medina are both my favorite. Brecksville's also has some character.

C-Dawg njaim, correct me if I am wrong, but isn't owens corning thinking about moving out toward maumee. If so, their headquarters on the river would make a great convention center.

Cleveland: Brookpark Rapid Station TOD
That sign has been at that rapid sta. for a while now. I also read about this development in the PD last year. Sounds like it should cost more then 16 mil. Where is this article from?

Cleveland: Steelyard Commons
KJP, In North Olmsted, just outside of Cleveland, they are building a Target store with 50 apartments on top of it and condos around it at the corner of Brookpark and Great Northern Blvd. I think all over the country, we are going to see more of that. With the price of real estate in hot areas, you need to do more then build a 80, 000 sq ft building and parking on all that land.

Anybody want to see an aerial photo of Montgomery County? (Dayton)
Alot of available land to develope. Intresting to see the 1x1 sq mile roads. That is probably how the land was sold off years ago.

Amherst: Cleveland Quarries
Plus, 50000 sq ft for a convention hall (smaller then a Best Buy store) is not nearly large enough for big convention business. Nor would you need all those hotels for a hall that size. However, you could cram alot of gamblers in a two story 50,000 sq ft casino.

Amherst: Cleveland Quarries
The developement, to me, looks like something that could be turned into a casino resort overnight if it ever passed in Ohio. Hence, the 50000 sq ft conference center. Sounds like an excellent floor for slots. All the hotel rooms. A bet Spitzer has some money in this one. If you remember, he has been trying for a casino in Lorain County for 25 years. Call me crazy, but that is what I feel based on the location of the developement. By the time casino gaming passes, this developement would be done and operational.

I read this on msn money American Stone Industries, Inc. Sells Option to Purchase a Portion of Its Real Estate May 27, 2004 American Stone Corporation, a subsidiary of American Stone Industries, Inc., announced that it has executed an option agreement with Trans European Securities International LLP, a European consortium, under which the consortium acquires an option to purchase approximately 900 acres of American Stone's real estate located in Lorain County, Ohio, for a purchase price of $23,740,000. Under the terms of the agreement, the consortium has an option for a period of 15 months to purchase the real estate. To acquire the option, the consortium will pay American Stone $250,000: $125,000 paid today and $125,000 paid 270 days from today. Upon the exercise of the option, the consortium has agreed to purchase the real estate and pay to American Stone: $5,000,000 within 30 days of the exercise; $10,000,000 one year later; and the balance of the purchase price, or $8,490,000, on the second anniversary of the closing date. In addition to the purchase price noted above, the consortium has agreed to share with American Stone a portion of its earnings that would relate to other than residential sales of the real estate.

How would you like to be the person that sits in the little cabin of a tower crane. Thats a long walk to the top. Imagine what it was like when they built Key Tower.

Cleveland: Cuyahoga County Gov't properties disposition (non-Ameritrust)
The Lakeside vision is awesome and probaly my favorite because of the mixed use aspect, however, it is quite expensive. Granted, Cuyahoga county is a very wealthy county, I do not know if they could spring that.

Cleveland: Cuyahoga County Gov't properties disposition (non-Ameritrust)
I like the 668 Euclid location. The Building needs a rehab. I don't see any other developer taking on that building. Higbee on the other hand has to be eyed by many developers by now for some type of conversion. This would be a great opportunity to get 668 Euclid cleaned up.

Is that site on lakeside where they were supposed to build courthouse tower at one point. Kind of sounds like the location.
