I know there is a loan program called a 203K program (or maybe its' 203b). At any rate, if you do some digging at the HUD sites or even on the Ohio City development site you can find more information. Typically not an income limit but a limit on amount of loan but up to near $200,000. not too bad.

Ditto! Great place! Never thought about Shaker as a place to live, been looking west.

While I love the idea of a security building, attended entry, etc. and really actually love a multi-story building condo such as Stonebridge, the SQ footage never seems to be enough or enough storage so I have to vote for Townhome.
  4. This seems to be an exciting neighborhood and we are considering living there so I look forward to hearing as much as possible! We have been to Gypsy Bean a number of times, that is a great place. Attended productions at CPT, very much stuff that the arts community needs -- alternative to the usual, but wonderful, Playhouse Square stuff. I hope the funding for changing the Shoreway and for narrowing Detroit/changin the sidewalks does not get cut by the State. That would be a major blow to the progress being made.
  5. Is this move with the Clinic official? Would love to hear more about it -- any idea where I can find information?

german - 50% irish - 25% french/belgian combination -- total - 25% (apparently there is a lot of in breading and the exact percentage make up of each is not able to be determined) queer - 90% (the other 10% likes football) but of course this information is really part of another forum question

We would probably choose BP or a nice place to renovate in OC. Hmmm, just what we are looking at. He needs space. I need a cleaning lady.
  8. I have not lived in Pittsburgh for about 20 years. However, I do think Pittsburgh still has what used to be streetcars but now when they hit the city limits they become the subway. At least that is how it was 10 years ago which is the last time I visited and used public transportation. I know that when I lived in Pittsburgh and worked full time/school at night I loved taking the streetcar -- extra study time. Pittsburgh also has a functioning incline that moves people up and down Mount Washington to the city for work. Not sure how many people actually use it for weekly commute, but it is still maintained well as a tourist destination on the weekends. if I could take a subway or commuter train now I sure would!
  9. I would look forward to that as well!
  10. I am very anxious to hear if anyone has information on the OC project as well. Thanks!
  11. Jim, Best of luck to both of you. Thinking we might be neihbors potentially. Still looking at OC but BP might work out better.
  12. Oh yeah, we go to Pittsburgh for IKEA sometimes and to Toronto for unique things. Other shopping is thrift store for those unique/rare finds and TJ Maxx usually for clothes. Okay, not high end but they're only clothes, mostly business casual for work or jeans for play!
  13. Actually, that was me with the Park Place no sale/TC connection. That is not the only reason, but it did play a part in the decision. We would have needed two parking spots and the unit only came with one. I would love public transportation but one of us works in Brunswick and the other out east so downtown is central for both of us. That being said, one option for that second spot was in the TC lot. We went there at 6 at night to see what parking and the area would be like and in the middle of the day and the weekend and at 5 AM when one of us goes to work. All those trips to look at the area/parking and the condo we quickly realized what TC had the potential to be. That was a let down but more importantly it had us questioning future value of the condo compared to cost. Just didn't add up unless there was something to draw someone to that area. Real estate is always a gamble but that case was just not one we were willing to take. So, we are looking at Battery Park and OC.
  14. Thank you! What is going to happen to the building and the other buildings around there? I had heard some type of development? Apartments/condos as part of the plans for the whole W28th/shoreway projects?
  15. I had heard that Halite was up for sale. Is that true?
  16. I am just picking up this thread. I saw the Dexter Place townhouses on www.livingcleveland.nhlink.net. I liked the buildings and looked here but it seems that particular project is dead. There was mention however, of another project going in the same area. Anyone know of any updates to this? Thanks!
  17. That's it -- been a while since I was there. I still think TC would look good with some better stores and an upscale food court such as Food Life. Would that be so hard to do?
  18. Why can't something be done with Tower City??? We almost bought a place at the Park Building. Then, had to park at TC for one of the many real estate appointments and thought -- nothing exciting here. What's the mall in Chicago? Water Town? Water Place? Anyway, something like that. Tower City could be at least half way there!
  19. We Where is this located?

Drove by yesterday after reading this thread. That is going to be one great complex! I think the views/residential will be awesome. Too bad it isn't happening sooner! Now, only if there was a way to get to the lake and the lakefront on the east side of town were pedestrian friendly!
  21. Address? Web? Thanks!
  22. Here is the site for the Cloisters: http://cloisterscleveland.com/
  23. Maybe it is The Cloisters. Nice condos from what I understand.

I was just in the store in Beachwood. It is closing as well. Only 10% off as of Saturday.
  25. I absolutely agree that all this banning of things is not good for business. I work in Human Resources and do a lot of work in diversity. We operate in all 50 states. I can tell you that getting top talent to go where it is needed is not always an easy task in the first place let alone when there is a veil of "ugh" and backward attitude about location way BEFORE even discussing things like salary, perks, and relocation. And that is just with individual candidates for jobs. When the decision is about whether or not to locate an entire business or a branch of that business somewhere the task, I'm sure, is even more daunting.
