Cleveland: University Circle: Cleveland Clinic Developments
While I'm not a fan of enclosed walkways, there is something nice about that scene -- a guy strolling along in his bathrobe 😁 and scrub pants in the walkway to infinity while a Cleveland snowstorm swirls outside.

Detroit: Developments and News
Too often we hear that something should be demolished because it can't be saved no matter how beautiful it once was. Well.... Before-and-after renovations of the James Scott Mansion built in 1897 in Detroit, MI

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Apparently they want them close ("Keep your friends close and....") because the tower proposed a couple of years ago across West 6th was described by SHW execs as being for SHW suppliers. Doesn't get much closer than that!

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Wow, that looks like a half-pint SHW HQ1! That might be a good design for HQ2. SHW has a lot they can move on to the west half of the HQ campus site which has basically two fill points -- the Superior West site and the Parking Deck Perimeter. I just hope they don't have dead-at-street-level buildings around the perimeter of the parking deck.

When you overbid, you want something more than what can be justified from a business perspective. Nippon wants something more, such as end-around US tariffs. Or perhaps it's something else? Whatever it is, it makes me nervous.

Other States: Passenger Rail News
Here is a webpage about the PennDOT/Norfolk Southern (NS) agreement to increase western PA passenger rail service including a list of the 11 infrastructure projects to be done by NS. The four Early Action projects are targeted for completion by 2026 to begin operation of a second Pennsylvanian the same year. https://advancingparail.com/projects/keystone-west/

With SHW's conservatism, they may build smaller even though the data I'm seeing says it should be taller. I guess we'll find out eventually. And don't forget that SHW still has the perimeter of the parking garage to develop -- whether they do it or someone else does. It's a sizable chuck of land but potentially not much parking to be added unless they put a couple of layers of parking within a 4-8 story wraparound structure.

Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad
The distance is roughly the same as the crow flies from the grassy parking lots to Blossom as the Indigo Lake CVSR Station to Blossom, but there's a roughly 235-foot elevation difference. Not insurmountable, but I would have golf carts on standby for those less physically fit! Or maybe an inclined railway? It includes a rising, roughly 600-foot-long bridge over the Cuyahoga River and Akron-Peninsula Road. The rising bridge from a new embankment would help get a head start on the hill climb on a more gradual gradient.

Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad
I would like to see CVSR or GCRTA run high/low-floor DMUs every 1-2 hours during the weekdays to Rockside or Brecksville plus several trips to Akron with CVSR running their historic trains on Friday evenings and weekends. I would add stops at Tower City, Tremont/West 7th, Steelyard, Harvard (with a paved trail to the Zoo), SR21 Brecksville Rd and of course Rockside. I would also build a trail from the Indigo Lake station to Blossom Music Center. The station is the same distance from the amphitheater to the outer grassy parking lots near Steele's Corner Road.

Vision Zero
Today marks 7 years since our last traffic fatality in Hoboken, 1 of the only US cities to reach this milestone. Although we’ve had success creating safer streets, we’ll continue to aggressively implement Vision Zero in all major infrastructure projects. https://jalopnik.com/traffic-fatalities-are-up-almost-everywhere-but-hoboke-1851048753

Great Lakes Shipping News
While this ship docked, it suggests it had business to do in Cleveland. But lots of other ships on Lake Erie headed for the breakwaters of Cleveland, Sandusky, Toledo etc this past weekend due to the seiche and high waves that were forecast and that occurred due to the strong southwest winds.
