  1. Sorry but I just published the article a few minutes ago. Here it is...... Sherwin-Williams to move Valspar to Greater Cleveland By Ken Prendergast / December 1, 2023 Within the next few years, Sherwin-Williams reportedly intends to relocate most, if not all of Valspar’s headquarters and research jobs, or up to 700 employees, from Minneapolis to Greater Cleveland, according to a highly placed source. Global coatings giant Sherwin-Williams acquired its former rival in 2017 for $11 billion, setting off a remarkable growth trajectory for both companies. That is resulting in the construction of a Downtown Cleveland office skyscraper, the gobbling up of more existing office space downtown, a new suburban research center and the start of planning for significant additional downtown office space. 6. Good news (though still below 2019)
  7. If it was, why do fewer than 9 percent (850 of 9,500) of Progressive's employees want to be in the offices that Progressive provides? I spoke to one of their HR-recruiting guys and the only way they can get people to work for Progressive is if they work from home 100 percent of the time.
  8. So you're not going to say anything about Mayfield Heights' mayor? They had and lost Park Place Tech. Cleveland never had it and competed with a dozen other cities. If I didn't know any better, you simply like to dump on Cleveland at every chance.
  9. Park Place Tech to buy Progressive’s Alpha campus By Ken Prendergast / November 30, 2023 Fast-growing Park Place Technologies, with nearly 500 employees in Greater Cleveland, has found a new, larger home after an extensive search that included expanding into a neighboring building or moving to downtown Cleveland. In fact, the property ultimately favored by the global data center and networking optimization firm matched the company’s requirements almost exactly. However, a title has yet to transfer to Park Place Technologies or any affiliates. MORE: https://neo-trans.blog/2023/11/30/park-place-tech-to-buy-progressives-alpha-campus/

  13. Major expansion of Fairview Hospital planned By Ken Prendergast / November 29, 2023 In a significant project in Cleveland’s Kamm’s Corners neighborhood, a phased expansion of Cleveland Clinic’s Fairview Hospital, 18101 Lorain Ave., is in the works. The project is proposed to start by replacing older structures with new ones on the hospital’s North Campus. After those new structures are built, three groups of older structures on the South Campus will be demolished and their land redeveloped with future hospital facilities. The group of three structures are the seven-level Groveland Avenue parking garage, attached medical office buildings and, across Lorain Avenue at the North Campus, the Moll Cancer Pavilion. Hi @richNcincy, I'm getting an error message that my PM inbox is full even after deleting multiple discussions. Suggestion(s)?
  16. Southwest has delayed us more times than Frontier or Spirit, although Frontier killed my wife's back and thus our Cancun vacation, while Spirit once nickeled and dimed us on VERY SLIGHTLY oversized bags to the point that we almost got into a fight with the gate agent who refused to let us on board with those bags. So we had to gate-check them at great expense.
  17. BTW, I forgot that this site used to be the original University School, dating to the 1890s when this was a wealthy neighborhood. Charles Schweinfurth was the architect of US. See the original US building below. When US moved to Shaker in 1926, Cleveland Public Schools bought it and remodeled it as Thomas A. Edison School, a school for boys with discipline problems. It was demolished circa 1970 and replaced with the current MLK High School.
  18. It's pretty clear that the research facility is going in Fairfax. And perhaps the HQ and other facilities, too. The inference by Baiju Shah of the Greater Cleveland Partnership is that the HQ may be in the Innovation District too. I wouldn't expect the research center, if located in the former IBM Explorys building, to cost very much. Perhaps $10 million to $20 million? If so, that leaves a healthy remainder of the $300 million for the HQ. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/baiju-shah-51a7a675_honored-to-be-a-part-of-canon-usa-healthcare-ugcPost-7134956137925287936-4Ixi?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop Shah writes: Honored to be a part of Canon USA Healthcare and Cleveland Clinic announcement of their new Comprehensive Imaging Research Center, a part of Canon's $300M investment and US Healthcare HQ in Cleveland. This will be located in our innovation district. Innovation is in our DNA. Cleveland is and always has been a place where we make things that matter for the world. This global partnership of two organizations that are focused on patient-centered innovation builds on that record and reputation. Pleased to be included among the dignitaries recognizing this event along with Governor Mike DeWine, Mayor Justin M. Bibb, Ambassadors Rahm Emanuel and Koji Tomita, and JobsOhio CEO JP Nauseef. Canon, Cleveland Clinic form partnership By Ken Prendergast / November 27, 2023 Global imaging giant Canon Inc. and the locally based yet global Cleveland Clinic Foundation today announced their intentions to form a strategic research partnership to develop imaging and healthcare information technologies to improve patient diagnosis, care and outcomes. The announcement, initiated by Canon, publicly reveals the first tangible development in nearly a year since the company said it had created a U.S. healthcare subsidiary Canon Healthcare USA Inc. and would locate its headquarters in Greater Cleveland. 19. Sorry, didn't have time to tease you with a bomb. Got another big one coming tomorrow evening. Largest Hough development in a century By Ken Prendergast / November 28, 2023 The largest planned, single development in a century is proposed for Cleveland’s Hough neighborhood by reutilizing the huge site of the closed Martin Luther King Jr. High School, 1651 E. 71st St. On that 11-acre property bounded by Hough and Lexington avenues plus East 71st and 73rd streets, 310 housing units and two divisible commercial spaces are planned as part of a neighborhood destination.
