  1. Fencing has gone up around the decrepit parking garage at 611 Huron, which could come down starting as early as today.
  2. A loan isn't a government handout. It the government doing the job that the private sector has failed to do. And as long as there is demand for housing (which there is) and the private sector is unable to financially support that demand, I'm grateful if the government can step in and move the growth of this city forward.
  3. In addition to the TMUD program, the county also has a new Housing Gap Financing Fund and directed to it $35 Million in ARPA funds to incentivize the development of 1,500 new affordable housing units and 1,650 new market rate housing units county-wide. Considering this used to be a county property and they have an interest in seeing this project move forward, I wouldn't be surprised if Bridgeworks LLC has already reached out to the county to inquire about funding from that new program.
  4. This article also references new developments in Little Italy including the Cornell Road Residences that's due to start next work month

The video starts at the location where the Jefferson Street lift bridge was located until it was, ironically, heavily damaged by fire in 1952 and ultimately closed and removed. Then there is a Hullett unloader (gone) on the right for the J&L Central Furnace whose blast furnace (gone) is just beyond the Erie-Lackawanna railroad main line lift bridge (gone). Most of this area has since gone back to nature or is used for aggregrates shipping.
  15. Apartments-over-library gets funding boost By Ken Prendergast / September 3, 2023 Delayed for more than a year, the proposed Karam Senior Apartments over a new Walz Library branch at Detroit Avenue and West 80th Street in Cleveland’s Detroit-Shoreway neighborhood, just received the first of two funding boosts to address rising construction costs. While this funding, $2 million in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds awarded by the city of Cleveland, will close half of the funding gap for the residential portion, the remainder is still being finalized by Cuyahoga County. But it’s apparently enough to re-bid the project this fall to see what the construction numbers look like, officials said.
