  1. I updated the article above after sifting through the approved state budget. It has money for Bedrock infrastructure, probably riverside bulkheads and/or boardwalks.

    A thread...
  3. The demo is consistent with the development concept I reported which was to build a new parking garage and warehouse for MCPC where the western two-thirds of the foundry building stood. The seller now has to find someone who buys into their development plan for the site because the demo is tailor-made for that plan. https://neo-trans.blog/2022/11/28/westinghouse-plans-revealed/
  4. Article updated with the councilman's quote.

One reason why GOPers cut funding for low-income housing. Too many of them view homeless people as without value. It should be noted that 10 percent of homeless are veterans. And 100 percent are human beings.
  8. If the ward councilman supports a project in their ward, the rest of council almost always goes along with it. And yes, I'm awaiting a reply from Kerry McCormack on whether he supports it.
  9. So Ohio lawmakers are above the laws they pass?
  10. I suspect Pinney is saying that they've identified all of the layers of their capital stack. And I suspect he's confident that the city will approve everything.
  11. Erieview Tower project gains potent partner By Ken Prendergast / June 17, 2023 Despite recent departures from the project, development team members assured NEOtrans that the $100 million redevelopment of the Tower at Erieview in downtown Cleveland is still going forward. A big reason why is because the development team has gained a potent new member — an influential Cleveland-based law firm tied into active developer TurnDev and its financing arm TurnCap. I saw that the other and wondered about the source of information. Where did it come from?
  13. Old Canal Road will be the service road. New Canal will be on the right of way of the CSX railroad tracks north of Eagle. Since the railroad tracks were built on the old Ohio Canal north of I-490, Canal is ultimately being built on the Canal. 🙂
  14. No. Canal Road will remain open.
  15. I finally heard back from the Erieview development team. Things aren't as bad as they seemed. I'll have an article tomorrow. But a significant development has occurred within the team to make the project more likely and keep W as a part of it.
  16. That and more. My understanding is that they have what they need to move forward. I've not heard of any setbacks.
  17. Another bottom-of-the-page article on UO.... Bedrock riverfront offices draw tenants By Ken Prendergast / June 16, 2023 Because of their cost and complexity, Downtown Cleveland megaprojects don’t usually have a strong track record of becoming a reality. But Bedrock Real Estate’s vision for the downtown riverfront between Tower City Center and the Cuyahoga River appears to be coming together more quickly as time goes on. And, in recent weeks, NEOtrans has learned that several large tenants are in the works for the major development. MORE: https://neo-trans.blog/2023/06/16/bedrock-riverfront-offices-draw-tenants/
  18. Topping out ceremony is Thursday.
  19. We're not that early in the process if Dan Gilbert/Bedrock wants to get Rocket Mortgage out of Higbee's when their lease ends at the end of 2026. They've got to get an office building under construction by this time next year. I have the name of another office tenant (new to downtown) and now there's this latest info of an existing downtown office tenant relocating to the riverfront. There may be other tenants but that's all I know right now.
  20. Source says Bedrock has 80 percent of its proposed office space leased. There are two buildings shown in its master plan as office. I don't know if that's still the case.
  21. Unclear as to size but their lease is up in several years.
  22. No new building permits have been submitted. No response from the developer either.
  23. I'm told a large downtown office tenant is moving to the riverfront development. If it wasn't for a new downtown office tower, they would've gone to the suburbs instead, the source said. I don't know who the tenant is but I doubt it's Rocket Mortgage because that's something Gilbert/Bedrock can control. Anyone have any info or educated guesses?
