Cleveland: Random Development and News
Construction of the parking garages at Crocker Park were financed by the Toledo/Lucas County Port Authority because Stark's partner in CP was John Carney, then a board member of the Cleveland/Cuyahoga County Port Authority. Another port authority was sought out to avoid a conflict of interest.

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
Weak article. I've experienced much worse on RTA. "Horrible" is getting stranded between stations on a packed train for an hour and not being let out. And their only source was one ex-WKYC employee... 'It was horrible' | Passengers describe RTA headaches following concerts, Cleveland Guardians game on Friday https://www.wkyc.com/article/news/local/cleveland/passengers-describe-rta-headaches-following-fridays-cleveland-concerts/95-c435c89c-d5d2-488c-9466-5d3515a55876

Adjaye did the master plan work. As far as I know, Bedrock is no longer using them for designing specific structures or public spaces.

Cleveland Burke Lakefront Airport
Burke Airport closure studies released by city By Ken Prendergast / September 16, 2024 Two reports laying out the steps for potentially closing Burke Lakefront Airport in Downtown Cleveland were released today by Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb’s Administration. While Bibb said the reports show there are more benefits to closing Burke than costs, he and other city officials caution that no decision has been made to close the airport, so no steps have been started in that direction yet. Slavic Village redevelopment plans progress By Ken Prendergast / September 15, 2024 A Cleveland-New York development partnership is seeking financing for a significant remake of the heart of Cleveland’s Slavic Village at Broadway Avenue and East 55th Street. And an application for Low Income House Tax Credits (LIHTC) is bringing more clarity to the partnership’s redevelopment plans that were first revealed publicly by NEOtrans in May 2023. Cleveland: University Circle: Cleveland Clinic Developments
Mayfield already has it thanks to Canon acquiring QED... https://neo-trans.blog/2022/12/09/canon-takes-aim-at-cleveland/ The question is will it follow through with plans for more, and where will more be? I've heard rumors Canon could take over Phillips Healthcare's huge facility on Miner Road near Highland Road (Highland Heights).

Clinic’s megaprojects construction are on time By Ken Prendergast / September 13, 2024 Cleveland Clinic’s three major construction projects at its Main Campus near Cleveland’s University Circle are progressing on or close to schedule, according to a Clinic spokesperson. However, at this point, it appears that any follow-on projects at or near the Main Campus may not be happening for a while, according to two sources familiar with the Clinic’s capital planning. BTW, the track gauge (width between rails) is the same, otherwise they wouldn't be able to share tracks from East 55th to Tower City as they have since the early 1980s (current fleets) and since 1954 (start of shared operation). Width of the train isn't an issue either since both train types roll past the high level platforms at these stations without issue. Here are the train widths... Blue/Green Line trains (Breda manufacturer) -- 9.3 feet wide. Red Line trains (Tokyu) -- 10.33 feet wide. New railcars (Siemens) -- 8.7 feet wide.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
A video? Tony Buzbee, the attorney representing the woman who filed the latest lawsuit against #Browns QB Deshaun Watson, tells me they will be scheduling a meeting with the NFL in the next two weeks. Said they have "a video and two additional witnesses for the NFL to speak with." https://www.news5cleveland.com/sports/browns/deshaun-watsons-accuser-to-meet-with-nfl-womans-attorney-says-side-has-pertinent-video I understand Watson's attorney isn't returning phone calls. So why not turn evidence and witnesses over to the police? https://www.news5cleveland.com/sports/browns/deshaun-watsons-accuser-to-meet-with-nfl-womans-attorney-says-side-has-pertinent-video

Cleveland: Streetscape Improvements
It bothers me to see this public space so underutilized. It could be one of the most visited attractions of Cleveland, like a beautiful High Line park. A public venue surrounded by housing and multiple access points with parking relocated to new garages nearby. And yet here it sits devoid of human life -- empty at one end and used as a parking lot at the other. Photo by @Ethan Rant over...

Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad
Interesting that it's not shown on CVSR's roster. I wonder why? Maybe someday CVSR/CVNP can piggyback onto another order to pick up several DMUs or if some temporal and physical separations from freight traffic are implemented, they could get trains that are non-AAR compliant for mixed-traffic use. That could also include getting second-hand trains like the O-Train's Bombardier Talent trains. They were supposed to be scrapped after only 14 years of service (there's nothing wrong with them except that Ottawa wanted to go with a new single rail vehicle type systemwide). But I don't know if they have yet.

Yes. Could also mean removing old structures from the riverfront land. Could also mean adding more land.
