I can tell you first hand that if you start anything that you are going to to your wife with "No offense, but..." that is pretty much a guarantee that she will be offended. And get mad at you... :-D But seriously I know what you mean.

I am all for people speaking whatever language they want bewteen each other or in private, but I do believe if you choose to live in the United States you should aim to have learn a functional level of English. It is not exactly," Speak English or go home", It is "Learn English so that you can participate in society"... My pet peeve is people that b!tch and complain about people's accent when the actual English is correct, especially those from India, Korea or other Asian countries where the cadence of the speaking is different than English. Edit: Thank you Mayday!!!

You would sh*t yourself then if you read the texts that my cousin from Scotland sends me. He types the EXACT SAME way as he speaks. I have worked with a couple of people from Scotland. That is scary. Although when I started there it took me a month to realize that it wasn't the accent or pronunciation or even the slang that made our one manager so hard to understand. It was the fact that he had no idea what he was talking about and was speaking nonsense to begin with.

Dan B, What an excellent present. Those pizzelles look awesome too. Have fun at the wedding. As for kids, my boys are 7,5 and 3 and they are growing up very fast too. I just pray they turn out OK. My middle one is the type that you would say is either going to be a very successful lawyer or politician or he will end up a con-man or criminal. He is 5 and starts every sentence with "Let me tell you SOMETHING" (sigh) He has been 110% since the day he was born. Diligence I guess to keep his ship pointed in the right direction.
  7. About a quarter mile west of Warren. I think this is going to be a Dunkin' donuts but they are building in an existing parking lot. Edit: Nope I was wrong. I wasn't even thinking about the right street. How about that 5 Guys construction :-D :-D

Yeah, I can't drink coffee for a good 10-15 minutes after I get it. My mom's the complete opposite. She makes coffee with boiling water and then puts it in the microwave to make it even hotter. I don't get it. Or understand it, physically. My mom can drink it boiling hot, too. It probably has something to due with the fact that she knocked most of her teeth out as a kid and most of her teeth are porcelain. Although she doesn't do the microwave thing.

One pet peeve of mine is hot coffee. I am talking about ultra hot coffee like McDonalds. I like to be able to drink my coffee when I get it, not have to wait 15 minutes for fear of scalding my mouth.

Fondue restaurant. Oh lawd. You poor thing. I walk out smelling like burnt cheese and oil every night, and the smell lingers in my car for a few days after too. One day comes off of my life every time someone walks in the front door and the first thing out of their mouth is, "Wow it smells so good in here." My wife works at the same resturant(different location though) and it is a weird smell. It smells good but disgusting at the same time. There is some garlic in the smell too. As for those people you should have dumped hot broth on them at 7 PM to get them out even if it meant foregoing a tip, you would have better off....

  16. Thanks for posting that LIG, I saw it on Friday but didn't have the time to post it.
  17. The only Walmart that I have ever seen expanded is in Autintown Oh, right outside of Y-town. Mostly I have seen where they build a new and bigger store across the street or a quarter mile down the road as the did on Rt 14 in Streetsboro. Edit: Of course Target did the same thing in Rocky River. I still miss the old smaller footprint target. I have to trek forever to get anything at the new one.

I hate when ODOT or their contractors closes a lane of 77 N at rush hour causing a traffic backup that is at least 3 miles long for NO REASON WHAT SO EVER! Seriously they closed the lane and ther was absolutely no work going on in the cones. I appreciate closing lanes at night to work and reopening the in the morning but at least wait until after rush hour to start closing it or it defeats the purpose.

I allow myself one non-work e-mail contact through my work e-mail and if the conversation get any where juicy or questionable we take off line for the phone after work or lunch.
