  1. Thanks Punch. I'd imagine that with the extra clearance they are trying to get out of the new convention center there is zero chance of a recreation being installed. due to weight and water issues
  2. Bump. for those for looking for more information. Like me :-D It has been suggested somewhere around here that the founatins are in storage somewhere in the city? Does anybody know if that is true? Or were they scrapped?

  5. Could being the operative word. I don't think wolstein has the money. Gilbert? He likes to spend money like a drunken sailor... Anyway, those are some great shots of the Hanna Fountains. When did they take them out? I moved up here in 2002. I am 31 and I don't even remember them from when I was kid on my trips to Cleveland from Y-town.
  6. it's new, not sure when it changed over to Johnny Malloys...Last month or so.
  7. self censored. Off topic or had the potential to drag the whole thing off topic.
  8. Right or wrong this is the way our justice system works. I don't know the facts but I am speculating the prosecutor is looking at either cutting the kid a deal and he is out in 4 years, while the father is in for 20 or he/she takes a weak case to trial and risks these father and son sociopath duo getting off on a technicality and both back on the streets. I am glad I don't have to weigh those odds, now if the judge just gave hime 4 years beacause he was young, now that is wrong as wrong can be. It ain't pretty either way but it is what is. Mike Vick did him self in. Our legal system awards those who cooperates like I am assuming this kid did and punishes those who resist.

We are business casual, a term that apparently has a very loose meaning anymore judging by some of the things people wear. It seems to mean anything but jeans and ratty T-shirts. Me? I am a longsleeve button down and slacks everyday. Sometimes khakis. Suit and Tie for outside meetings or presentations. I am not a fan of polo shirts in the work place. Probably because I have seen way to many people who think that just because it has a collar they were good to go for work. nevermind the dreaded man boobs in a polo shirt. As a balding man, I wish that real hats ( not baseball caps) would make a comeback. My head gets cold.

I'll toss a vote in for the Waterloo.
  15. I remember reading somewhere in the last year or so that the Italian population of LI was down to less than 15% from about 50% 10 years ago due to the redevelopment and older population kicking the bucket. Being from an extended family that is mostly working class Italians and growing up in a small rural town. I know that it is a photo finish between Rednecks and working class Italians on who is more intolerent/racist (I am speaking in generalizations). I think LI might be be more accepting now overall, nothing like back in the day, but I really don't get over there much. But interesting point about the food. Watchout. but back on topic...
  16. Very interesting thread. I feel for you in Washington Hts. that sounds like a hellish existance noise wise.

  20. Hi Dogsandcats, Does it work well on Railings and Spindles?
  21. I think it is conceivable to have two but they could not be the two proposals that we are talking about at the Galleria and Power House. The analogy that keeps popping in my head is the GL Science Center and The Cleveland Children's Museum on University Circle. If you don have kids stay with me. The GLSC is at least 10 times larger than the Children's Museum and is more of a day trip or a 3 or 4 hours at a time affair, while the Children's Museum is an hour or maybe two hours tops at time. Both are hands on education oriented but GLSC is much more science driven including exhibits aimed at adults while the Children's museum is geared entirely at children and is more educational experiences on a shoestring budget. This work because there is an overlap but the differences (size, time, $$$) make for two different experiences. Anyway I just think the proposals are too close in scope to coexist. There needs to be several orders of magnitude between them. Plus I think the Power House would be a nightmare to put it in.
  22. "boutique aquarium" ? That's a new one for me. The Galleria location is intriguing.
