Does Ohio have the worst ex-pats?
Really Toledo only has lost 1/3 of it's 1950's population? That is really impressive given the size of household changes. I will be the first to admit that I don't know enough about Toledo. I just think that people from Ohio, especially the Gen X'ers and younger suffer from hearing about how good the economy used to be in the state up until the 70's. At least in NEO that is. I remember my parents talking about how when they graduated high school if you didn't want to go to college, you could go get a job at a mill or factory with no problem at all and be able to live on that. Especially around Mill towns such as Youngstown, where they are from. Almost all that we have heard growing up the job losses and closings. I believe that we have hit bottom on that for the most part and now are back on the upswing but old opinions die hard especially when a lot of our growth is in small companies that are hidden from the public eye.

Cleveland: TV / Film Industry News
Bingo. Michigan just recently passed tax credits for film production. Detroit is very much an industrial town, as is Cleveland, which is probably why they decided to shoot there and not in Cleveland. Which is why Ohio needs to pass those flipping tax credits already!! Interestingly... I just read something somewhere where the director said the main reason he chose to film in Detroit, is because Detroit looks more like 70's Cleveland than Cleveland currently does. (I think that's a good thing ) That is a good thing.

Cuyahoga County: County Government Reform News & Discussion
I am not as well versed as others here on OU of the sins of Cuyahoga County but I am for a reform of some sort. There are too many fiefdoms in the county governmemnt that really don't answer to anyone especially the citizens, this has led to the rampant corruption and waste. I really don't think that it really is a Democratic or Republican issue. The real issue is that the current political machine has been in power too long and they felt they didn't have to answer to anyone because there has been nobody locally seriously challenging for power. I have not developed an opinion yet about the proposal floating around about a single elected county executive and a elected council.

Beachwood: New Eaton Headquarters
There are still plenty of people of the younger generation who are impressed by the burbs and it's promise of free parking, cheap housing and bottomless soup and salad... Oh, wait you said "top talent".. the same ones that flock to NYC, Boston and DC.

Beachwood: New Eaton Headquarters
Does anybody know where CEO Sandy Cutler lives? I did a quick google but couldn't find it.I did however find he was on the Yale track team with two gold medalers from the 72' Olympics. Google is such a curse and a blessing. I understand research parks/campuses but would you want your business operations in a CBD? I am not all that familiar with that area but won't a 10 story building stickout like a sore thumb?

It's Amazing How History Repeats Itself...
Sounds fair to me. a little over 24 hours in the station really isn't a big deal. Lets face it, this school has turned into the joke of Ohio. law Enforcement for the necxt several years to come are going to make examples of people with alcohol violations. As an OU grad I would counter that saying there are many other things that qualify as the joke of Ohio before OU. See Cuyahoga county Commissioners, Auditor and Sheriff. It didn't even make Playboys party school list this time,

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
What are the chances of Howard playing in Game 6? I think the 7 T-foul rule is dumb but if it works to our advantage I am all for it. He can't seem to help himself. Edit: I just saw that number 6 was rescinded by the NBA.Crap!

NBA: Playoffs News & Discussion
Oh, yeah, if the Cavs don't make it, I'm all for the networks getting screwed with a Denver-Orlando series. it would be very very low rated. People want to see LBJ-kobe. Carmelo and D12 are not big enough names for advertisers to buy into. Shhhhh! David Stern is monitoring these forums and taking names....

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
And in true Cleveland fashion the Magic will get cold and shot 30% for the threes in the finals and get swept by Denver (or possibly the Lakers). Salt in the wound at it's finest.

Favorite Music At The Moment?
Lead singer of Powerman is Zombie's brother if I remember correctly. I was into them in high school; completely not my style anymore but I saw them at Bogarts in Cincinnati and it was a fantastic show. Yep Spider One is Rob Zombie's brother, no really my style either but it was a nice nostalgia trip. I can imagine that it would be a great show, seems like they are very theatrical with out crossing over into the super campy like GWAR (Disclaimer: i have never owned a GWAR CD but my brother was into them when he was in junior high) Edit: Favorite Rob Zombie moment is when he is driving the Munster mobile in one of his videos.

I think the fests would be fair game for undercovers, house parties would be a different story.

Favorite Music At The Moment?
Ripped some more CD's that I found tucked away in a box. Current Play list includes REM's New Adventures in Hi-Fi and Lenny Kravitz - Circus Also Powerman 5000 - Tonight the Stars Revolt, I always has a soft spot for that Rob Zombie style.
