  1. hydrobond that is a pretty impressive list.

T-minus 28 hours until Brady Quinn's debut.... (Dr. Frankenfurter Style) Talk about An....ticip.............ation
  3. That's a crime. A clean growler is a clean growler. They should fill up what ever you bring in there.....I think that the 64 oz is a pretty standard size, it's not like you are trying to scam more beer. Sounds like Rockbottom is a pretty good deal.
  4. Peabody, how much is it to fill up a growler at each of those?
  5. oooh a beer thread... Thanks for the heads up on Christmas Ale, I knew that my spidy sense was tingling for some reason. Now I know. Fave Cheap has got to be Miller High Life in a bottle, priced to go at $7.00 a 12-pack including tax at the drug mart down the street. I am a fan of IPA's especially Brooklyn Brewery's. My buddy's coffee shop/gallery/indy rock venue Bela Dubby on Madison in Lakewood (gratuitous shout out) has it on tap, I love to sneak in for a pint or two after work before heading home. Can't go wrong with Dortmunder either....
  6. Repost from earlier: I arrived to my poll in Lakewood at 6:20 AM , there were already 60 people in line waiting and well over a hundred by the time the polls opened. I did managed to get out in 15 minutes once they opened. Know your precinct it will save you a ton of time. I hope that was just the morning rush otherwise this could get messy which is saying alot considering Ohio's past voting debacles and shenanigans.

Someone buy Braylon some GLUE! Sometimes I feel like Braylon is the Cerrano (Thanks flee2thecleve) character from Major League who can pound out 500 ft homers (tumbling one handed catches) off a fastball but he can't hit the curveball (routine in his hands catches). Minus the vodoo of course.

All I have to say is that is heck of vote of confidence for Denver's defense switching the QB on 3 days of practice. Although if Denvers D is that bad against the run, I can see a "manage" the game plan for Brady, heavy on the run to get him up to speed and build some confidence. Maybe 20 passes at the most for the whole game.
  9. Definitely gimmicky but I really do like the Kansas City implementation.
  10. Don't get me started on Dennis... It really does look like some game of Duck duck goose, with obscene amounts of capital, with the Treasury going around tapping banks on the head saying, Duck-here is some money, Duck - here is some money, goose, no money for you. You are going to be bought.

I stopped over to make a post about the Browns needing to get DA a shrink but got sidetracked by KJP's hilarious analysis of the PD....That is why I love Urban Ohio...
  12. From my friend in Baltimore on his experience with PNC buying Mercantile, sounds promising or rather the best we could expect of a bad situation. "PNC gobbled up Baltimore's Mercantile bank about a year ago. People were pretty freaked out by it, but they have been a good partner so far, minimal cuts and they'll flood Cleveland with corporate donations to win you over. The first week they opened in Bmore they had marketing people on every corner handing out free pretzels. The dropped $50K on Patterson Park and just donated another $5K to the pool in our park in support of Phelps and underprivileged kids who want to swim. So it's not all bad. :
  13. This is a huge loss for Cleveland as a community. Nat City, beside employee thousands of people, was very active in the community. Not to restate the obvious... Not good news at all.
  14. I do wish that they could open up the far corner of the parking lot for a right turn only directly onto the 90 West bound on ramp. If it was some sort of coordinated traffic signal would it work? I haven't been to the new Giant Eagle yet. Sounds like it is nice. We are practical and do most of our shopping at Marc's and Target.

Sort of related, I will try to post a link if I can find it. When I was down in Baltimore in the spring there was an article in the Sun about how the city was trying to clean up the harbor. They were going after trash runoff (oil, chemicals and silt are another issue) by stringing nets across most of the tributaries and the had a special barge that would go and collect the trash. The barge looked like a shack on pontoons with a conveyor belt that went down into the water to pull the trash inside. It was a neat idea to tackle the problem of what the city considered an eyesore of floating trash after spending all that money on the inner Harbor.

Well the only thing that jumped out at me is at least there are EASTlake and WESTlake.... I personally like Detroit Shoreway and North Coast. If we have surfers, its a coast. I see your point about Battery Park though, it is really cheesy when you think about it.

I am going to give some play to Baltimore just because my friend lives there and I have always had a good time when I go down to visit him. Besides the ultra dense housing it really reminds me a lot of midwest industrial cities like Cleveland. Also I can stay with him, go out and then ride the MARC into DC in the morning when I have to go there for work. I still hate their football team though.
  18. oooh cupcakes. I wish I wasn't carpooling today I would swing by on my way home.
  19. Doc Broc.. Great Post. As far as Bob Evans goes, only if I am forced to or it is the only thing around. I don't know who mentioned it above, but I only get the wildfire chicken salad too (if it is not breakfast). I am a sucker for mildly tangy sweet sauces, just like the Jack Daniels sauce at TGIFs if they still have it, but I don't think that I have been there in 5 years. C-Dawg, why do you got to hate on Chipolte? I know there are better burritos out there. But still...
  20. I agree that outside (and inside) of the region people are inclined to think that CSU is a junior college. I am trying think of any major College with a city name and State in it's name. There aren't many. Most (City name) States are junior colleges. Maybe the problem is that it is Cleveland State University and not "THE" Cleveland State University. (Sorry as an OU grad I never got the OSU'ers obsession with stressing the "THE") I am digging the idea of CBS for vikes football with huge banners blocking off the upper bowl with back projected Ads and graphics. That could be pretty cool. Does anybody if it is possible to coordinate NCAA and NFL schedules to makes sure that there is generally only one game a weekend?

Awesome game. The worst part was waiting for the clock to run out to really celebrate... Where did this defense come from? The D-backs are really developing. Let's just hope that RAC, Chud and Tucker can come up with this caliber of a game plan in 6 days, and don't need an extra week everytime.
  22. My grandfather grew up in the Briar Hill neighborhood in Youngstown, and he said that you knew times were tough if you could breathe and see the sky, because it meant the mills weren't running. It was both majestic and disgusting at the same time the amount of pollution that was pumped out of those mills. Personally I drive past the Mittal plant on 490 everyday and I am still mesmorized by the flare of a smokestack. I believe the area where the new Republic facility is subject to tax sharing with Youngstown tied to the deal that ran city water out there. I could be wrong though. Shame on me for not knowing, I grew up right down the road from there.
  23. That is good news. 60 good paying jobs in the Mahoning Valley is a good thing no matter where they are at. It is unfortunate that this a greenfield though and not in the river valley. This mill (or mini-mill) will more closely resemble a larger version of the Extrudex aluminum plant in N Jackson on the south side of Mahoning Avenue, than what most people think of when they hear Steel Mill. This location makes a lot of sense. It happens to be pretty much under a transmission line so it will be cheaper to hook up to the grid. And it is a the cross roads of I-76 and I-80, plus they may be able to get access to the railyard down the road behind GM.

Full price? That will be tough to beat. Although I think I did pick up the single of "I'm too sexy" from a bargain bin in college because it had the spanish version on it too. No idea where that is now. I thankfully stayed away from nu metal so I don't have any Limp Bizkit coasters. I have a ton of crappy alternative radio one-hit wonders CDs from the early 90's. I also did a ton of bargain bin digging in college so I am sure that i have something embartassing lurking in my CD cases.

That is a tough one... The problem that I have is, especially with Steve Martin and Eddie Murphy, once they get out of stand up it really clouds my jusgement of how funny they could be. Loved Carlin though, even his crappy sitcom that he had on FOX back in the early 90's. Can I give a negative vote to Dane Cook? Edit: Add Robin Williams to the above list, too.
