I hope they have plenty of rum and cigars handy tonight.Let's get some runs and support the rookie.

At this point, it appears that Detroit is just the better team both on paper and on the field. And they have the Indians number this year for what ever reason. These two games have be a bit of an exorcism for me. I am just going to enjoy the rest of the season and the race for the wild card spot. I don't see us catching the Tigers unless they totally melt down. Lets get in the playoffs and get these young guys some post season experience.

Can we just end the Carlos Santana as a full time catcher experiment too? He's a liability behind the plate. I like the kid but full time competent catcher just isn't going to happen. My 7 YO said something about catching like Santana does. I told him to please not watch Santana catch, watch Gomes instead. Perez just picks the worst moments to implode. I was still hoping for a miracle in the bottom of the 9th. It wasn't meant to be. Edit: Nice effort by Swish on the dive for the foul ball, too.

Surf, Any resolution with the metroparks about surfing when they close the beach due the size of the waves and riptide?
  7. ^Don't forget the Wendy's on the corner. That was dangerous. Well, at least to your arteries.... Nice article overall.

I am just hoping they got it out of their system. On the other hand Fernandez's stuff is just dirty. We were not going to hit him. On the bright side Ubaldo got it back together for 3 more innings after being rattled in 1st after the blown double play. Unfortunately his pitch count was blown. Lets see what they do tonight. Edit: nevermind about Ubaldo, I was thinking all 5 runs were in the first.

I love it. Indians are on neither the ESPN or SI MLB Homepages. How is that for lack of respect? Let's just keep flying under the radar and getting the job done.

They won't release the figures, but most estimates put season tickets at 7500-8000 for 2013.

So we get a lefty relief pitcher, who didn't pitch in the bigs this year? Huh?

Easy. We've been burned too many times (collectively speaking). We are coming off a year where the Indians had record breaking bad August. I personally believe that this team is way better but there are a lot of people who need to see it first. I do believe the excellent TV coverage hurts the attendance numbers big time. The HDTV delay allows us to sit on the porch listening to the radio and then turn to see the big plays live on TV. A move for a bullpen arm before the deadline would help people believe its for real. For the record, I'll probably go tomorrow night.
  13. ^I often wonder what's the appeal in being a cop in River or highland Hts, etc running speed traps ALL DAY.

^ Actually M80's in the mailbox is the other version of the game.

Call me crazy, but if you are inclined to post racist tweets during the MLB All-Star game about who is singing, chances are you are probably not the type of person that will put a lot of thought into it. Ignorance is still rampant in this country. Now everybody gets to see it. Public Shaming is a great website (and a great reminder to remember that the internet is forever!).

I was just glad it wasn't Neil Diamond. Did you hear him "singing" Sweet Caroline during the eighth inning? Sheesh.

Yeah, it needs read carefully. I see what you did there. Very tricky.

Count me in as one of those that drop the "to be" in those instances. It even took a few reads to figure out what you were talking about.

Kiley and Booms, would be better if it was Kiley and "anybody else". I literally just heard a Barkivus Mingo contract watch promo on 92.3. Oy!

That's some serious soap opera drama you have going on there. I just have to worry about my wife getting hit on by girls in my roller derby league.

Ugh, another heartbreaking loss last night. And yet they were in it until the last batter. The bullpen is a mess.

Rich, Just wanted to say thanks for all of the time that you commit to keeping this ship sailing. I am a tech dinosaur now, so I'll leave the hard ware conversation to you guys. Somewhere a "devil wears prada" admin is wondering what happened to all of the hits to his/her site.
