Agreed. That was the most I have seen of the Cavs in national coverage in two years (minus coverage of the losing streak). They also have a national game on Wednesday night coming out of All-star weekend. I think we've finally found Kyrie Irving and he's out from under the cushions of the RV. Side note, LeBron was really really really happy and jumped out of his seat during the finals of the 3 point contest when Kyrie was stroking almost every single shot.

I am guessing it was the ankle. He rolled it pretty badly last game. FWIW the Spurs were probably looking past the Cavs, but we still played them tough and should have won as a team without Kyrie at full capacity to score. That would have been sweet... They have really been clicking most nights the last few weeks. Dion and Kyrie seem to be on the same page. Gee is putting up some offensive numbers again. I can't say enough about Speights and Livingston off the bench. It's been painful at times to watch Zeller get pushed around but last night showed that it's making him better and he gets it.

Craaaaap! That would have been a nice win over the Spurs going into the break. Zeller showed up tonight.
  4. Just a post Superbowl observation: After last weeks mini blackout in New Orleans, would you ever hold a Superbowl named after the company that caused the worst Blackout in US history?
  5. That corner is a gold mine for a decent grocery store between pop density and the amount of upper income west suburbanites that commute past it everyday. The CVS is supposedly the best performing in the metro. I will take any of the above stores.

There is a thread on it somewhere.

Another nice overall game guys! It wasn't always pretty but a decisive win over a team we were suppose to beat. Orlando's big Vuric? Had a really nice game. He owned us (mostly Zeller, but he got other guys too). Big game tonight.

LOL...lacks basketball skills. That about sums it up.
  9. Well, if it makes you feel better. There is something deep in the works for all the spaces between Jammy Buggars and Merry Arts, that a friend of a friend is working on. Should be going public soon. Something will fill the 5 Guys space. I wonder if it's an omen for the franchise in the long run, their prices keep creeping up.

Ryan Who? Never speak that name again...Although I saw Zeller miss a dunk last week ala' Hollins. Seven freaking feet tall and you regularly missed dunks? How is that possible?
  11. CBC replied to a post in a topic in Sports Talk
Yes. We took advantage of their cap issues and gave our team a bench. Looks good to me. Is Z working with Zeller? Does anybody know what his capacity with the team is now?

I didn't get a chance to watch the game, and was pleasantly surprised to see the score. However, I was outright shocked to see that Kyrie only had 22 of the 122 points! I even checked the standings. Stupid Boston is on a 5 game win streak so we are still 10 1/2 games back of the 8th seed. But 6-8 are clumped tightly together so if one of them go on a skid we could make up some ground. Also may I admit I am mildly relieved, I was beginning to wonder when Scott was going to get these guys playing with some drive.
  13. Just an update. 5 Guys in Lakewood closed over the weekend. I can't say I am really surprised, it was rarely busy in there. I don't think it was a question of parking because the Menchies next door is always busy. Seems like a price point and limited menu issue in a city where every hole in the wall has a decent burger and handcut fries/chips. I know we didn't frequent it as much as I anticipated. Last time we stopped in there right before christmas it was almost $50 to feed a family of 5. That was a shock to me.

    3 game winning streak BTW.

Damn! 12 seconds left down by 2, Kyrie comes down and drops a monster 3 4 ft behind the arc for the lead. 0.7 sec left. Cavs win!

I was there last night. Nice comeback effort from the bench in 3rd. Thank Byron Scott for deciding to play the new guys, after initially saying wasn't going to. There are times that I get chills watching Kyrie. The kid has ice water in his veins when it is time to close out the game. There is no way he isn't going to take the last shot. Wow, that is a lot cliches in one post

    How bizarre indeed.
  18. Honestly the best bang for our buck upgrade would be turf. That way we could do things regularly like HS football Double headers on Saturdays, MAC football games, more than one concert a year, etc etc. Blasphemous? Yes, but practical. Or we could leave the grass and do all those things and have a homefield advantage like Heinz Field. The grass there falls out faster than the hair on my balding head.

Trestman was with San Fran as late as the mid 2000's. It's not like he is Gruden or Cowher who have been out of coaching completely for 5 years. I am not endorsing Trestman but at least he still has the fire for coaching. I mean he went to the CFL for the opportunity to become a head coach.

Apparently Trestman is an offensive Guru that has a load of NFL experience but went to the CFL a few years ago for a HC position.

^ Check out the link to the interview that I posted in LaTourette thread. Very interesting perspective on Boehner and the state of the GOP.

Insightful interview with LaTourette on the Atlantic on blaming the GOP for the current gridlock/ineffectiveness/clusterf*** in Washington right now. He sound really disillusioned with congress and the various factions mucking up the legislative process right now. They quote below blew me away. Q: How about you? You recently resigned from Congress after nine terms. LaTourette: I'll go back and find something productive to do with my life. As opposed to the last 18 years. There are more than enough football reasons not to want Vick at this point without even getting into that...
