  1. Density, it's a statistical trade off...I don't have an answer...be smart depending on your surrounding. I am thinking it was around 2002, I seem to remember being in my old apartment when I read about it. I left OU in 2001 and the coke scene was just starting back up.
  2. I would say that the majority of car break ins, even in urban areas are kids. I live in Lakewood and we have some problems of our own, but it seems like everytime there is a coordinated string of burglaries the perps tend to be from somewhere else and are taking adavantage of the combination of semi-relaxed attitudes of the residents and the high foot traffic/activity of the area. (Side note:Smith, I am not sure how old you are, but were at Hudson when those kids were busted buying a ridiculous amounts of drugs for the prom after party a few years back? I think they had something like 20 sheets of blotter acid and a ton of coke and pills)
  3. Just to counter point SHS, it happens out in the exurbs and suburbs all the time too. My boss who lives in Medina (and not in a development, sort of stand alone street) had 2 of his cars broken into 6 months ago, they pried open the sun roof on one. Hell it happens out in the boonies where my parents live, not enough to make them lock the doors on their cars but it still happens semi regularly. Like Mayday said, the guys breaking into cars are looking for the easiest marks..be smart. Of course, I live on a nice street but with high foot traffic so I try to always lock my doors on my car. Just in case.

Cavs showed up to actually play tonight against the heat. Mo choked on the go ahead 3 and they still lost, but it resembled basketball and Jamieson had a nice clothesline hard foul on LBJ.

I have nothing witty to say. That was ugly. On a related decorating note. My wife decided to repaint our living room 3 weeks before Christmas? She is not done yet. WTF? I don't get it.

Easier? Bathroom or kitchen sink? And have you ever combined numbers 10 and 11? Power pre-rinse? Of course there is this philosophy if you want to save water... " if it's yellow, let it mellow, and if it's brown, flush it down..."

Woot! I just found my drivers license. I was totally freaking out because I am flying to DC for work on Thursday and was dreading having to go to the BMV tomorrow for a replacement. Looking forward to my pat down by the TSA.

We are getting my son an ipad as an adaptive technology, he has some fine motor problems that makes writing next to impossible at this point. You bet I'll be playing some angry birds on that... Boo... I just IMDB'd that. I was thinking it was "Guess who's coming to Dinner" and was going to make a smart ass comment about the remake being far superior. I've got nothing now. Boo to efficient Snow Removal...

Nice Pics. I was in town for a Holiday party on Saturday night, I really have a new appreciation for the downtown Youngstown view from I-680. It's actually bigger than I remember it being when I lived there. The building mixture is nice and dense and everything is pretty close in scale. The Isley dairy/U-haul Art Deco building needs some TLC though, it's looking pretty rough. However, I had to drive along the river through Campbell (To Lowellville) and that's just depressing....It looks like the detour that I took a few years back through West Virginia south of Charleston when 77 was closed due to an accident. Struthers is hanging on and seems to be doing alright though.

Amen to that. It's windy and 6 degrees in Milwaukee right now. I can't feel my face after 1 minute of being outside. Now that's cold...

My one complaint about the cold though is my car will not warm up just sitting there and idling. I went out and started it 15 minutes before I left this morning and the temp gauge was had not budged by the time I got in it to leave. It's a 4 cyl with a turbo so it's great on gas for a full sized car but I guess that it uses so little gas sitting there idling that it really won't get warm until I start driving. Even my old econo box 4-banger would have warmed up in 15 minutes.

I had a nice leisurely drive today. Ate some candy canes, drank some coffee and listened to some music (Fiona Apple- Extraordinary Machine), it was kind of nice knowing that no matter what time I showed up nobody would care. Traffic was slow but constantly moving so I can't complain. Driving it the snow generally doesn't bother me and the roads were mostly clear. I guess it comes down to if it bothers you or not? Is it sucky to take your dogs for a walk around the block in 40 mph winds and snow? Yes. Does it really bother me that much? No not really because I do like taking walks with them in the snow, when it's not blowing and enjoying the hushed quiet effect that the snow creates. Now when it's March and it's 35 and gray, raining all day for days on end that bothers me...

Good! more beer for me... :)

Yeah, I won't be using that again. It was horrible. I was still tired the next day and out of it. I haven't tried Melatonin but I have read that it works. Of course I don't know if Melatonin will help me get a restful night's sleep when the 6 year appears at the side of the bed for the 2nd time that night and I give up trying to get him back in his bed. Then I spend the rest of the night being kicked and pushed off the edge of the bed.

You "forgot"? Suuuuuuure ;) Ignored would be a better term. Its not really a party just a bunch of people bringing in too much food to munch on all day. They don't do "parties" here..

My wife will use Benadryl to fall asleep too. I took 1 Tylenol PM the other night, instead of the normal dosage of 2, becaus it was late and I was pretty wired. It caused me to sleep in an hour and I was out of it the next day. I may have been sleeping but it certainly wasn't restful.
