Where do you live????
David I loved your discription of Hillard. That pretty much describes my friends from college who live their to a T. W vs E in Cleveland? Is there still a rivalry? Didn't that end when Crocker Park opened and both sides of town had an "authentic" lifestyle center to spend their money at? I am with Mayday on this, as a non-native, get over yourselves. Just because your daily needs of eat, sleep, and work don't take you to the otherside of the city doesn't mean your side is any better or the other side is any worse.

http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2010/12/shippers_to_propose_widening_c.html Shippers to propose widening Cuyahoga River navigation channel to make room for Dan Gilbert's Cleveland casino Published: Tuesday, December 07, 2010, 7:00 AM Updated: Tuesday, December 07, 2010, 10:24 AM Dave Davis, The Plain Dealer CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The local shipping industry is about to propose allowing Dan Gilbert to fill in 29 feet of the Cuyahoga River for parking at his Cleveland casino in exchange for widening the navigation channel on the other side of Collision Bend. The proposal from the Lake Carriers' Association, the group representing freighter companies in discussions about the river, involves widening the river channel by dredging a large bowl-shaped area of shallow water and removing the nearby Eagle Avenue Bridge.

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
http://www.deagans.com/menu.html Apparently there is a lunch menu and dinner menu. There are no Apps on the lunch menu or small plates. Just salads, sandwiches and a few entrees. I didn't see the pulled pork on the dinner menu.

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
Duh, I saw that last night. I am not sure what I was thinking. I guess I got it confused with the "Plank Road Brewery" label that Miller brews "Icehouse". I hope that the Plank Road Tavern in in reference to the old split log toll road that originally ran along the path where Detroit Rd is today, and not in reference to "Ice House" beer. Too many headaches from that...

NFL: General News & Discussion
So was that Braylon's "Dazzle" on display last night on MNF? Actually, I falling asleep and didn't see too much of the game. However it seemed that everytime I woke up the Pats had the ball. So I really don't know how he played. I didn't realize that the JETS have only beaten 500 or below teams. Other NFL news, McDaniels is ousted in Denver as headcoach. I didn't see that coming. ;D Holgren should send him a nice fruit basket or something for the Hillis/Quinn trade to cheer him up.

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
New Brewpub going into the old Panini's/Riveria space on Detroit in Lakewood. They had been renovating all summer and when I drove by this morning the windows had a sign for IIRC "Plank Brewpub" or "Plank Brewery". I went to Deagen's in Lakewood for lunch yesterday and everything is top notch. The menu is Gastro Pub styled but rather limited, no apps even just salads for starters. However the food is excellent. The pulled pork is to die for, served over jalepeno corn bread with apple slaw and fried onion crisps.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
I was filling up the space in the double post as to avoid our excellent UO admin and mods extra work, plus I tied it back to the Browns...I was serious about that part. I would love to play the Steelers next week with BR hobbled and Heath Miller out with a concussion, especially if Fujita is back. Has anybody heard when he will be probable to play again? Love Colt McCoy btw, apparently he was out throwing balls during warm-ups, he is itching to play...

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Bah, Sorry for the Double post, I am on a laggy internet through VPN working from home. Did anybody else see the Ratbird-Squealers game last night. After the beating they put on each other last night, I sort of wished the Browns were playing one of them next week. Neither team could be 100% by next week.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
A win is a win. Is a win. I'll take it. The game has obviously slowed down for Haden. He may not always be in perfect coverage but he knows where the ball is at all times.

RIP Leslie Nielsen
I read a great article on Leslie Neilsen after his passing about how all of his years (20+)as the straight dramatic actor made him the perfect person to play the spoof of the serious whitebread guy in the Airplane and Naked Gun/Police Squad movies and shows. It also had a good point about what made those spoofs so great is that they spoofing a serious but stereotypical genre (disaster movie/police dramas) and how the spoof movies of today fall flat because the spoof movies of today are spoofing movies that are already spoofing movies (ie Scary Movie series and Scream) Hmmm. When I find it I will post a link to the article.

Trust me. I'll take care of Reggie. Trust and believe. I have a few ideas, if you are soliciting suggestions. I still can't believe that Barkley is now the voice of reason and balanced opinions in the NBA. Oy!

Cleveland Density
Getting back to the Phoenix prejudice, I think it has a ton to do with the fact that Phoenix/ Cuyahoga County appear to be about the same size and density. And the make up of the two is probably remarkably similar, an old urban core that CDM posted and sprawly suburbs on the outside. However because Phoenix was annexing and Cleveland was stuck at it's current boundaries, well you know the story, same old broken record here on UO. It stings when you are talked about poorly nationally but even more when it's an apples to oranges comparison. Give the region a fair shake, and don't give out free passes because a city is big and sprawlly.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Well that was embarrassing for the current team. Fans came out as passionate, but reasonable. I wanted to punch Marv Albers and Reggie Miller in the face during the whole broadcast though....

You are going to have to retire to Hell, or at least a suburb of Hell. That is exactly what my grandmother would say about South Florida. She was warm. It would be 85 or 90 in the summer up here and she would still have the windows closed and a sweater on. But I digress. Show me some love and throw a circle for Lakewood's density.

I'll take you up on 2 of the 3. Hugs are appreciated. Midol is great stuff, caffiene and tylenol, we used to use it for hang overs in college. As far as number 3. My pipes are clean, lots of fiber in my diet...

Cleveland Density
Well that would explain a lot about why you liked it there. Anything over 90 and I am miserable, maybe 93 if it's "dry heat". This whole national media frenzy on Cleveland is really fueling my Cleveland complex.Let me rephrase that, it's really making me want to refine my arguements and reasons for liking it here. Calling another city crap really isn't a valid reason.

Cleveland Density
Then you don't want my answer! [*]It's in Arizona for christsakes! [*]It's dry [*]Uncultured [*]Racially unbalanced or shall I say not diverse [*]The "city" has no soul [*]Horrible Housing I could go on. Typical. Thanks for contributing... (I am in a foul mood today. Thanks LeBron, national media coverage and lackluster Cavs. I enjoyed reliving every dumb thing that Cleveland has ever done in the name of sports) I think most of the animosity towards Phonenix comes from the great press that it gets nationally, while Ohio gets horrible press. All you hear about Cleveland weather is how you are cooped up for 4 months a year, Really are you going outside when it's 115? We just have a chip on our shoulder. In short, if it feels good do it. (A great life philosphy in general)

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Oh I got that over with after the opener w/ the Heat and Celts, you'll feel naseaus at first and it might seem like you have torrette's due to the stream of profanity that pours out of your mouth. But it gets better with time.
