Cuyahoga County Executive
I have a friend who was on the city finance committee who said the deal was on the up and up. They reviewed it and the city makes a $100k a year now instead of losing around a $1M, on Winterhurst. As far as I know Fitz was only listed in the probe because he took a call from Dimora, who I believe got all of the kickbacks from said developer. As I have said upthread I believe that Fitzgerald is a very capable executive and a corruption clean straight shooter( or at least knows the line not to cross very well from his FBI days) but my reservations about him stem from the fact that he ran for this position before serving one full term as mayor of Lakewood. He is very ambitious and I think his ultimate goal is a congress seat or state office. I voted for Lanci because I thought he was sincere, had the executive experience from his business dealings and he would have stuck around a few terms to see the transition all the way through. He had no other motivations at this stage in his life or career.

That's pretty awesome. Was there anything in the safe? I would have probably picked up on it, since I am always scheming on how to remodel my house and drawing up my ideas.

I am picturing the MTS family therapy being like the Simpsons where they were all shocking each other...with swearing in multiple languages.. Secret rooms full of stuff? that's pretty wild.

Cuyahoga County Executive
Not indicted, when he was a coucilman is on the record taking a call from Dimora on behalf of one of his "partners" regarding a proposal to lease/privatize Winterhurst ice rink, which later passed the city approval and review process. Fitzgerald is on the record saying, "he was a sitting County Commisioner was I suppose to not taking the call?" Basically Dimora used his influence to get this guy infront of LW city council.

Number 2 is possibly an evil genius...Although he is probably the most hetro 6 YO you will ever meet. And MTS would probably find his taste in clothing to be suspect. Number 1 is much more preppy.

Number 1 is tall but not that tall, so no $300k Darth Vader costumes. And believe me MTS, Number 2 would be your protege. We are trying hard to keep him on the right side of the force...

Um OK... My whole family went as Star Wars characters for Halloween. I had an inflatible Jabba the hutt costume. The wife was Obi Wan (too cold for slave Leia), Number 1 was darth vader, Number 2 was Anakin and Number 3 was a Clone trooper. We won a book about Lakewood and some free bowling coupons at the block pre-trick or treat party...The guy who dressed up as DJ Lance from Yo Gabba Gabba would have probably won, except their was two of them...

2010 Gubernatorial Election
I just think that Strickland was very competent given the climate and he got the bum end of the knee jerk voter reaction much like Mike Dewine Sr did in 2008.

Cuyahoga County Executive
From what I know about Fitzgerald, he'll be fine. I voted for Lanci because I liked his sincerity and independance but Fitz has done a fine job in Lakewood. He is a capable executive and the county will be in a better place regardless who won. The whole structure is different, and the power is spread around.

2010 Gubernatorial Election
I think Strickland is going to pull ahead once all of the metro areas are done reporting. I think what we are seeing now is most of the smaller counties in at 100% and in the the west they broke heavily for Kasich, but Cuyahoga County and Franklin are only at 25-30% reporting and Strickland has 20,000 to 30,000 vote lead already in those counties. And if Hamilton is a wash... But I have been wrong before..Stupid John Kerry in 2004....

Ohio: General Business & Economic News
1/2 % of Ohio's electricity has to come from Solar by 2020/5? so the mandate will make it profitable because it will have to be sourced in state. New Jersey already has a solar mandate and they are putting in Solar Farms like crazy there. The S-RECs (Solar-Renewable Energy Credits, The trading mechanism used to meet the mandate) are worth a ton right now. I am not sure about that location in southern Ohio but I know that NEO has less than favorable conditions for solar farms compared to New Jersey, which I believe has an addition 70 sunny days a year than NEO.

Youngstown; a short trip with a tall ending
Nice pics as usual. I remember when Salsita's (in the 5th picture) used to be a Rax Restuarant. It's not to hard to see it looks the same except for the sign... Did your friend get married at the Gazebo or in the Pavillion at Riverside? It had to been great for pictures with the fall foilage.
