  1. Brasa could be a good choice too. Depends on your friends. I set up my best friend's B party at Great Lakes and they put us up in the upstairs room and we might of had a limited menu (not really sure). However pitchers of dortmunder and Christmas Ale, then straight to Hooples for shots , meant the bachelor did not even make it to midnight (we were 25 at the time, and half of the guys were still in school) Edit: Just saw your post, I'd try Lola, it's a cool space and has the Mike Symon connection.
  2. I'd probably would say the Chophouse, you generally can't go wrong with guys and steak.

MK that is so true. Usually I roll into the house around 6 after a one o'clock game giving me plenty of time to recover for work in the morning. The 4 o'clock games are OK but the 8/8:30 games are way too rough the next morning. My forecast for this season: Mostly optimistic with partial clouds of realistic expectations. Go Browns! I am getting excited for Sunday. WTF was up with that Ray Lewis Old Spice commercial last night?

Yep. 11 River is on the west bank of the river directly across from the Metroparks marina. It is being built on the bank of the river. The Cliffs is planned to be built on the East bank of the river and north of the Marinia and Detroit bridge. It is going to be around 100 units and extend from the bank of the river all the way up to Sloan Ave at the top of the hill. I believe the developers still has options on the site, I could be wrong though... That is correct. There was recently a story somewhere about the Cliffs. They had theyre financing fall through and had several reserved. They still hope to do it though. The 11 River guy (same one as Coltman) must really have his act together, that he was able to finance both projects, and get them moving.... I didnt even realize 11 River had broken ground. I go down to get my kids ice cream at the Marina pretty regularly they have been working on those 4 or 5 units since late June.

Thanks to which ever mod moved my picture. I was being lazy. The Cliffs project was the one that was going to be on the Lakewood side of the river north of Detroit. They got as far as demo the two houses they bought, some grading of the hillside and fencing the area off when the sh!t hit the fan in the housing market.
  11. Fitzgerald has done a good job and made some tough cuts during his short tenure as Lakewood mayor, but he wears his ambitions openly on his sleeve. He seems to be a very effective adminstrator but I am concerned that he sees this position as a launching pad for a seat in congess.
  12. How so? Dowtown to downtown is less than a half hour drive and in between are the CAK airport, the Belden Village area and the suburb of Green. The area between the two is pretty much built out. And this is that much different than Cleveland in which way? It's 40 min/35 MI DT to DT, and Akron to CLE is built out all the way up RT 8/480/270. BTW 13, I am just messing with you a little bit, we have been through this several times already in this thread.

  15. Any comments on the winners?
  16. Looks like you had a great time.
  17. Anybody else in District 2? I am looking for opinions on Jordan vs Miller.
  18. Unless it's a six car tandem garage... ;) Then I am wrong because its a garage with an attached house!
  19. I was thinking about this the other day and what is really bad about about the first house that I posted is that they probably could have done a side entry garage for the same cost and space. They have a 30 ft wide strip of concrete in front of the house. A 15ft wide driveway all the way to the back of the house would probably been about the same amount of concrete. and the frontage of the 3 car garage turned sideways is around 22 feet instead of 30 plus. So they probably could have done it. You can't do that with a 2 car garage but if you have the frontage for 3 car, turn that sucker...

I have been training my youngest one how to be a placekicker. I figure with his size and coordination if he has special teams skills too he should be able to get a scholarship somewhere. Plus kicking seems like a pretty good gig, kickers usually still can walk after their football careers are done. AJ, Title IX is your friend. Get those girls into soccer/volleyball/swimming. If the boy is smart, focus on the girls because you still need to get them on campus to get the MRS degree... Actually I was thinking about this and I am guessing that our rental property is really our college fund. I really don't make any money on it right now, its pretty much cash-in equals cash out plus tax benefits. But in 10-15 years it will be either paid for or almost paid for so I will probably either sell it or finance college using a HELOC.
  24. MMPI posted a construction manager position on Careerboard on 8/30. I will link when I am on a PC. Anybody interested. That's a good sign at least.
