LOL, I've done that. I moved over the course of a month two miles South on one bus route. It was hell and I'll never do it again. The hardest part was waiting for a bus with no people on it to move the bed. I ended up moving it at 1AM. Are you serious? The driver let you on the bus with a bed?

Anybody here a Bruce Cockburn fan? I started listening to some of his stuff. Yes he is an overly lefty Canadian with some of the most political lyrics ever written ( seriously he wrote a song bashing the International Monetary Fund, the chorus is "IMF, Dirty MF') . But he is an awesome guitar player especially on the live recordings.

I was flabbergasted to find out that people actually dress like that with out a sense of irony. Where we go in NC for the there are a lot of old money people from instate who have beach houses or houses on the sound with boats. We were at this cement block dive bar on the island one night with our friend who grew up in New Bern which is about an hour away. And there are all of these kids rocking the boat shoes and collars flipped up, turns out he went to high school with some of them. So he had to explain the whole dynamic to us. Anybody who would wear that to work is obviously a poser punk, because anybody who does dress like that would never wear that to the office. On a similiar note, I have an uncle that is old school Boston, he still will rock the pink bermuda shorts and loafers.

MTS, I had a little more time to look at those Newsweek numbers. I have no idea why SH or CH isn't on the list but according to the list 56% of Lakewood senior have passed at least 1 AP or IB test. That's pretty impressive. I think this is a case where the opportunities afforded to "gifted/high achieving" students in SH or CH are greater than at Lakewood but Lakewood is doing a better job spreading the opportunities to the general student population. Also according to the methodology they are netting the different tests taken in same subjects to try and discount any double counting that I was speculating about in my post above. (And seriously even though I didn't go to Polk High like Al Bundy, the only AP I knew in HS was the Associated Press! Sigh....)
