The only thing I know about East Oakland is that is where Too $hort is from...

^haha. that's what I was thinking about when I wrote that. Apparently the 'skins may be alright without him for a while. RG3 going down basically guaranteed my fantasy team's victory. It's hard to lose to somebody when their QB puts up 3.7 points for the week.

Ah sh!t, I just realized that I have let my guard down and actually allowed myself to get excited about this team, as I sit here reading my Browns feed on Bleacher report over my oatmeal. I am loving Pettine's demeanor and his press conferences . I believe he has fixed the culture in the locker room of losing. , although I am still waiting on how they react to getting blown out. I don't think this team is quite a contender yet but a good team that could compete for a playoff spot this year and get better over the Next few years. It could be fun.

Coverage was very good all day. I enjoyed being able to see the whole field at the stadium and focused on the coverage, given that Brees can kill you through the air. The renovations to the stadium are a huge improvement to the experience. I really like the continuous lower bowl. And the screens are beautiful. It took me a few minutes to locate the down markers on the ribbon screens but once I knew where they were it was no problem.

How about RG3? I am glad the Browns dodged the bullet on that one. The glass man. How does one even disarticulate an ankle?

^haha. It was entertaining enough just to watch a competent Team. The win was the icing on the cake

Who's all going tomorrow? After seeing the Stillers man handled on Thursday night, I don't feel as optimistic about the second half last week. New Orleans had a chip on their shoulder going into the season and it's doubled in size after losing to Atlanta last week. Our only hope is that the Saints are historically a horrible team outdoors and on the road.
  8. They started cutting the pavement out for the medians today. It's moving along nicely. I am concerned at how the pavement and the stamped concrete will hold up long term...

The Kentucky derby is May. Welkers test is weeks after Gordon's
  11. What a horrible headline given the context of construction jobs. Lazy. Good numbers for Cleveland though.

Pete: In fact, isn't "Milwaukee" an Indian name? Alice Cooper: Yes, Pete, it is. Actually, it's pronounced "mill-e-wah-que" which is Algonquin for "the good land." Wayne Campbell: I was not aware of that. http://25.media.tumblr.com/0d14125b379c5f843e0aad8249d3f11c/tumblr_myv44q6boc1so20l7o2_1280.jpg[/img] It had to be done....Unfortunately when I am up there my view mostly consists of industrial parks...
  13. They've put the stop names up on the Lakewood bus shelters yesterday. They aren't signs but rather indivual raised letters. They look very nice. I'll try to snap a pic on the way home.
  14. The Edgewater Alive Thursday nights were prominently feature in that video featured on scene.Once again kudos to the Metroparks on the job they have done on the lakefront parks.

I understand not giving him the benefit of the doubt but what the hell took 5 months?

Peter King is speculating that if the Browns tank the season, they'll have two picks in the top five of the draft. Yeah Cleveland! Just 8 months until the draft woohooo!!! :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang:

It's been over 24 hours and I still don't feel much better about this team. I can only hope that much of the schemes and play calling were to evaluated players. Although, I did see something in Manziel's play for the first time. He's still got a long way to go. On a related note I agreed to go to the home opener. I must be a glutton for punishment.

Soooo. Nobody has anything to say about that "game" last night?

Ugh, Monday night was the first game I watched and the new rule is unbearable. I think Haden is going to have problems with it. His strength was always getting his hands on the receiver without knocking them off their routes. The competition committee needs to give the defense something. Some of us enjoy a 14-12 slugfest. I liked the trial of the long extra point, even though Cundiff nearly missed one.

I'll have to dig out my Walkman Sport to listen to Fishbone. I know I have a copy of The Reality of My Surrounding some where. Everyday Sunshine was a modest radio hit. Anybody else catch Sid Vicious's version of My Way being used to sell Acuras or Infinitis?

I am listening to the presser. I wish Johnny worked the football half as well as he works the Mic. He is smooth.
  22. Looks like another packed weekend downtown....and the airshow is next weekend! Downtown Cleveland: More than 100,000 people expected for Saturday's games and events Marc Bona, The Plain Dealer By Marc Bona, The Plain Dealer on August 19, 2014 at 11:50 AM CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland arguably will be the busiest sports city in America on Saturday. All three pro sports venues downtown will host games simultaneously, and when you throw in a variety of other events going on, we can expect as many as 100,000 people downtown at the same time. That night at the Q, the Cleveland Gladiators host the Arizona Rattlers in ArenaBowl XXVII at 8. The Indians face the Houston Astros at 7:05 next door at Progressive Field, and the Browns play their first home preseason game at 8 against the St. Louis Rams at FirstEnergy Stadium. Because of limited overlap between the seasons of the two football leagues, the three teams playing simultaneously at the venues has never happened since the Gladiators relocated to Cleveland in 2008. ^The number of penalties were ridiculous on both teams. It was unwatchable (It was pre-season so I guess that is a given)

Obviously the defense will be the strength of the team, but the offense still needs to be serviceable, chew up enough of the clock, get 2 or 3 field goals and sniff out the end zone at least 2 times a game. I think Hoyer has that in him, with Tate and West behind him. Speaking as Yoda, "Pick Six, not offense plan make"
