  1. Niko, I really like this idea. And what a cool place to play tennis, basketball, bocci, etc. the idea is great, but seriously how will that be used year round and after 6pm and on weekends? It's in the middle of a civic center. To the East or West would be great and use the area for movies, etc. As a creative thinker I can't see how this would work from either a, financial and neighborhood use, point. Perhaps it wouldn't need to be a permanent court, rather a designated multipurpose area that could be easily set up for basketball, tennis, movable stages, etc. Then you could bring in hoops for things such as corporate challenge or YMCA basketball or nets and fencing for tennis tourneys, stages for concerts and so on and so forth.

Channeling Spike Lee as Mars Blackmon," It's gotta be the shoes!" But no sh!te about his ankles, he'll roll his foot over 90 degrees to his leg and shake it off like nothing happened.

Feeling better a day after the Chicago series ended. I also feel better that LBJ was trying to ask Mike Brown if he had a TO to call between foul shots and didn't just try and toss it up left handed. I expect some blood on the floor in this next series. If KG gets in trouble again does he miss multiple games? Let's Go Cavs! Let's win this F***ing thing!

Listening to Prince at work. Genius. I have a new all time favorite Prince lyric from 'Peach' , " Her hotpants can't hide her cheeks, she's a peach"

I used to get excitd to go to the "Hills" store in Austintown when I was a kid, who knows. I like Target, but I reconize it is just another well greased cog in the US consumer machine. A cleaner clog, with a Starbucks attached and snazzy bullseye graphics everywhere but a cog none the less. One thing they do better (at least the ones I go to) is have enough people working the registers. That way I can concentrate on getting annoyed at my kids when we are checking out, making sure they get the full wrath of my annoyance.

fixed that for you. One thing that I used to like more about Target was the old Westgate one had a smaller footprint and I could get in and out of the store in 5 minutes without walking 5 miles across the store if I forgot something. The new one is too big....

I think the clothes have a lot to do with it and household goods also. Target has slightly better design than the other big boxes, although the gap has closed over the last couple of years. Really Target and Wal Mart have about the same prices on the same sundry items. Walmart does have more "loss leader' type products though (stripped out special models foe Wal-Mart), especially in electronics and bikes etc. I think shopping experience plays into it too. For me the answer is simple I am smack in the middle between two targets (w 117 and westgate) and it takes more effort to go to wally world. We go to Marc's which is by far the cheapest for most things, if Marc's doesn't have it then Target and if we care about the quality enough Heinen's or another local retailer.

Hahaha, if there ever was a downtown Boardman they knocked it down a long time ago to widen 224, I remember when they knocked down this awesome mansion right across from the park when I was in highschool. I never knew it was there until they clear cut the trees in front of it, and then boom, it was gone.

I have used GT brothers on the corner of Madison and Arthur for a few things. They have always been reasonable and I haven't had any problems with their work.

Anybody else a little uncomfortable with that series? And as much as I hate to say this, good luck next year Noah, we look forward to seeing you in the playoffs again. BTW is that a beard or just overgrown sideburns?

This the anti pet peeve. I love my ipod and headphones beacuse without being able to block out the whining conversations that take place daily around me for the first 60 minutes of work, I might just kill some f*cking body.

People tend to basically good to people they know personally, it's the people that they don't know that usually get the shaft. I hope these kids keep this lesson with them and keep helping those they run across in during their lives that need help. On a related sidenote, we took the kids to Disney World last week because we had a wedding in Tampa on Saturday, lots of sick kids and parents walking or getting wheeled around, it was pretty depressing when I stopped to think about it.
  23. I can shed a little light on the Easter Egg houses, the guy who used to own them and painted them was a relative of a friend. He has since sold them off. It wasn't an intentional ploy to lower property values, he was just a bit of a hippy with a misunderstanding of Victorian color schemes. I think he thought that Haight-Ashbury was the traditional color schemes for the "painted ladies". I was in a few of the building he owned at the time and besides the glaring paint jobs they were pretty well maintained. I believe he also owned the apartment building in the 3rd to the last picture.

That's a classic, although the Go Diego Go theme is better.. My 5 year old randomly started humming the theme from Beverly Hills Cop the other day, my first reaction was when the hell did you see that movie? Turns out that it's in Spacechimps too. Who knew?

Jason Swartzman's (yes the kid from Rushmore) indie pop project Coconut Records. Great stuff. I'll embed some video when I get home.
