We have a a fifty cent lot her in downtown Akron that I used to park in, of course you have to hike over a freeway on ramp to get to downtown, but hey it's cheap. Now I split a garage pass with the carpool mate.

Pet Peeves!
All I can think about is the line in Office Space when they check the account the next day and there is a million dollars in it and Mike Bolton goes, "Sh!t, I always miss the decimal point."

Pet Peeves!
Whoa, that sucks.... Do they still do parking in the muni lot off of W. 3rd? That's where I was parking when I still was downtown 4 years ago (Grrrr) it was really cheap. Back then it was $2.50 a day or $25 a month. And the hill isn't that bad.

Cleveland: Wind Turbine Construction News
Thanks Hootenany you got to it first. Just a little perspective on how much power we are talking here. Perry is around 1200 MW, Davis Besse is about 800 MW. Typical wind turbines per unit are rated at 1-5 MW max output, although wind turbines usually have an average capacity factor (MW hours produced/ MW rating x Hours in a year) of around 30%, while a nuke plant is usually in the mid 90%. Woot on this going forward, I hope I can leverage this into a new job.

Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
As I am sitting here drinking my coffee and reading the Sunday Plain Dealer and saw the latest anti-3C piece by Brent Larkin, I started to wonder what happened to Brent Larkin? Did his dog get hit by a train? Is repressed childhood anger for not getting that Lionel set as a kid? Mr. Larkin definately does not like choo-choo's and seems to throw everything but the kitchen sink into the argument against the 3-C.... Back to my coffee....

Man, isn't that the truth. There is nothing that feels as good as walking out of work on sunny 70 degree day in March, especially now with the earlier day light savings you even get o enjoy a few hours of the sun.

Help finding street in Rocky River
I find that when someone hands me something hand written it is easiest to just snap a photo of it when I don't have time to type it into my phone. God I have been married too long.

It shows up when you do your federal taxes for the next year, so if you bought this year and filed early you could have it by the end of February 2011. It's a credit meaning that what ever refund or amount owed for 2010 taxes add 8k in refund to it. You can't really "apply" it to PMI, you are simply putting the money towards principle on the loan shortening the time it take you to get to the magical 20% equity on the purchase price, there by reducing the total amount paid on PMI. BTW PMI is about $70 a month. Just ran some rough numbers, assuming a 100k house, 5.5% 30yr fixed mortage and a 5% down payment if you apply the 8k credit to the principle you would be ou of PMI in 5 years, 6k of the credit would be 6 years and no credit it takes about 9 years. You would save close to $800 a year in PMI once you get out of it.

Xavier University Musketeers Athletics Discussion
Crazy good game. I threw in the towel and went to bed at the end of the first OT, I was already stretched way beyond my bedtime. Too bad for Xavier I was rooting for them. That three to send it into double OT was a monster!

I would say the best use for the tax credit would be to pay down the principle on the house and get you out of PMI more quickly. We bought our double in 2003 with 10% down and it took until 2009 to get out of PMI. You aren't paying a lot in principle those first few years so an extra 8k or 6k (putting 2k aside for remodeling/improvements/slushfund) would go a long way to getting you out of PMI.

Great article. Unfortunately the author of that article probably didn't get to experience the Agora, or she would have been raving about it too. Is it still semi-closed? The only show listed on their website was a Kid Cudi show in January.

Yeah I am not sure why he didn't expand the kitchen when he expanded into the second store front. The Thurman Cafe in German Village in Columbus has a similiar set up and situation. They expanded into the storefront next door about 8 years ago to basically to add new restrooms and a waiting area. The wait can be a b!tch too. Sandwichs are still good at MELT but the slaw isn't nearly as good (and spicy) as when it first opened. FerraiEnzo, I would also suggest the Beer Engine as a west side destination for beer and good food, usually no wait and they always have some interesting beers.

Beer! To be honest it was the first time I had heard of it... excuse my ignorance! You are an eastsider...It's excused. :) Great beer selection there. I hope you had something good. Take the girl on a date there if you decide to pursue that further. The wait is a b!tch though, maybe get takeout and take her to Lakewood park over looking the lake.

Please tell me you are kidding about just hearing about MELT? What did you get? My favorite is probably the winter chicken.

Well it looks like you survived your adventures on the westside and lived to tell about it. Which bar did you end up at?

Not too shabby. It would have been better if you found her house, but it is still a pretty good story either way.
