Ah RnR, the Stephen Stills model circa 1968... Reading this I have decided that I am an XY. I was born in 1978 and graduated highschool in 1996. I think kids my age shared the relaxed parenting that was associated with Gen X but I have had a computer and video games in my house since as far back as I can remeber (C64! Intellivision! Colleco!) and have grown up with technology much like the Gen Y. I missed hair metal or at least was still a kid during it's reign. I am a 90's kid through and through as far as culture goes, I started junior high in 1990 and graduated college in 2001. That puts me at that impressional age for Warrant, (which was officially the death of hair metal), the emergance of "Grunge" and the Seattle Sub-pop bands, Metallica selling out and the move of Rap and Industrial music into the mainstream. Although my older cousins introduced me to the Dead Milkmen and NWA when I was in 4th or 5th grade, but I guess that was just the leading edge of what was going to become popular in the 90's. Sorry for the ramble. Three sick kids at home so I am running on very little sleep and I am out of my mind on cold medicine.... The ultimate 80's artifact: Acid washed jean jacket with hair metal band panel on the back.

Mrs. CBC called and got the deal we want plus a month of free HD and 3 months free HBO. I think the free HBO is what they give just to get you off the phone faster. Too bad it isn't Showtime, I think the new season of Weeds is starting soon.

Drew Carey of course! Or John Boenher, it would be life like because he is bronze® already! John Glenn might be a good choice on a serious note. Astronaut and Senator.

I am going to give it a shot for a year....If does suck I can cancell it within 30 days. It has been availible in Lakewood for about 2 years now, so hopefully they have the kinks worked out. I know they put a ton of those huge terminal boxes on the tree lawns around town in to support it. I put my wife on the case to call AT&T sales. She drives a bargain much better than me. I bet we end up better than the promo I originally was going to pull the trigger on.

GRRRRRR, who changes their promos on a Tuesday morning??? Our DVR for DISH died so I cancelled it and have been without cable for a month or so. Wife issued an ultimatum about her needing cable so I priced out everything yesterday was ready to pull the trigger on a ATT Uverse bundle (Phone, internet and TV). I went to order it this morning and the F'in promos changed.....Now I have to sweet talk my way in the deal I wanted.. :shoot: :shoot: :shoot:
  9. More options for lunch! I'll take it. Although I will admit that in this weather I have not made it down there in a few months.

I am going to throw my endorsement in for the temp agencies too. Both my wife and I used them after we graduated while we looked for permanant positions. No grease, no bleeding (unless you count paper cuts) and most of the work is pretty mindless (like auditing/sorting files) but it is a paycheck and they hours are generally business hours so you can have a social life.
  12. I would love for you to find even one shred of backup on this. I have never heard that. Hey my wife is from Cleveland! Is that enough backup for you? Just kidding. The only area of the country that I have ever heard being know for good looking people is SoCal. Now if he said Cleveland and Toldeo girls are know for their drinking abilities, I would have no problem believing that.
  13. Huh? Was that just so you could insert your mandatory mention of "Hot Chicks" into the post?
  14. Look at New Orleans and the Saints. Huge change in the amount of positive press that the city recieves. Come to think of it, NO wasn't on the list?
  15. RnR I don't think anybody moves to a city or moves out of a city because of the sports teams but I think there is something to using it as a measure of miserableness. A lot of people (mostly males but some women too) use sports as an escape. So when your team wins it lifts your spirits and when they lose they are down a little more than usual.
  16. We're number 1! We're Number 1.... What in the hell was that picture of Cleveland from? Siberia?

Great trade, let's hope that Z's agent can reach terms of a buyout with the Wizard's and is back here by the 4th week of March.

This thread reminds me of the movie Howard the Duck. he pronounced it as two separate words. "Cleve - Land" *Disclaimer* Yes I know that it is possibly one of the worst movies ever made.
  20. MMM Pita pit... There was one in Athens when I was at OU. Good stuff. Should be popular with the UA crowd as well.
  21. FirstEnergy to Buy Allegheny in $4.7 Billion Merger February 11, 2010, 7:54 am FirstEnergy of Ohio agreed on Thursday to buy Allegheny Energy of Pennsylvania for $4.7 billion in stock, creating a giant electricity provider with customers spread across the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic. The merger marks what some analysts believe will be a wave of consolidation among energy producers to help lower costs and gain scale. The combined company — which will retain FirstEnergy’s name and headquarters in Akron, Ohio — will have about six million customers and $16 billion in annual revenue and $1.4 billion in annual profit. It will own 10 distribution companies in seven states, including Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, New York and New Jersey, generating electricity from a mix of coal, nuclear, natural gas, oil and renewable energy sources....
