News breaking that theee sites are under consideration: Taft HS Football Stadium in OTR Milacron Site in Oakley Ovation in Newport Thoughts? OTR...fingers crossed.
  2. Inner ring is good too.
  3. Hopefully this topic isn't a duplicate but the worst street corner reminded me of how I have some faves. I was driving down Sycamore the other day from the top of the hill and was newly mesmerized by the visual journey of driving down Sycamore all the way to 3rd Street. What's your favorite ?

Funny this was bumped because I was just thinking the other day if there is a thread related to the best street. Example is Sycamore. Start at the top of the hill you have this great vista and some intact residences and bars going down the hill. Once you get to the bottom of the hill you have this great canyon effect in front of you all the way to 3rd street.
  5. KFC Yum! has done a nice job of pushing the services and concourses to the "end-zones" out of necessity of the footprint.

    No doubt. Wowzers is correct.
  7. Bill is in one of my business networking groups. It's a tragedy. So sad.
  8. Cleveland has an expanse and scale unmatched by the others. QCS has grown on me over the years. I thought it's top-third proportions were off and should have been another 5-10 stories taller at the setbacks with a less dominant uh, tiara. As for that Cincy angle from say, Bellevue Hill, Carew looks ridiculously thin. It's always bothered me how this angle betrays that wonderful building, reducing it to an almost imperceptible spire. Cincy's dynamism comes from how significantly the vistas change with the angle. In my opinion, it's most attractive and impressive viewing either from the SE (Covington cut or the Devou money shot) or NE (Prospect or Mt. Adams). More recently, it's actually been possible and pleasing to stand at the river's edge and look at the Cincy skyline. Now that the parking lots and produce warehouses are gone, it's quite a view to take in. This has created a nice wall effect completely from your left to your right.
  9. My friends were at Prima Vista that night and said that the entire crowd at the restaurant was captivated by it. They all described it the same way: Independence Day mothership. In fact storm chasers call these mothership shelf clouds.
  10. Or to have some cops directing traffic on downtown streets and ushering the streetcar through... but we know that's not going to happen under this administration either... The Cranley admin certainly has a huge distraction now. We may actually see things improve since the brainpower will be used to navigate his campaign off life support instead of subversion of the streetcar. ?
  11. Freaking awkward.
  12. This. Standards for emissions has made a big difference. I can recall the air being almost noxious at times even into the late nineties. Old shots from the Enquirer archives show a shrouded skyline viewed from KY. It was never as bad as when SLC has the inversion but it was close.

That seemed to cast our chances in a very positive light. Stadium plan being the last legitimate concern (market size being the only other slight concern.)
  14. How behind schedule and over budget is the MLK project?
  15. I was ticketed on Sycamore while my spot was actively paid. How? Apparently it's illegal to display an expired KY license plate while parked on a public street in Cincy. The registration sticker was in my glove box awaiting a non-salt coated license plate in the spring. ?
  16. Please tell me the average Joe is just tired of this line. At some point the CBC has to become an object of sympathy if nothing better. Compare and contrast how KC mayor has treated their streetcar. Cranley only loves himself. He's willing to use what could otherwise be a competitive advantage as a political football to ensure his future.
  17. In another ad, they refer to the streetcar as a trolley.

You don't even need to push a button to be identified as a working number. Just the fact that you answer and say "hello" registers your number. Likewise, letting it go to voicemail does the same because there is outgoing audio. The way I handle these is as I answer I immediately mute the call. There's always silence for a few seconds on the other end and then the call auto terminates. If it's a live person they will voluntarily say hello when the realize the line has stopped ringing and someone or something has picked up. I did this a few times when I got these calls and tennthey tailed off to the point I get basically zero.
  19. This really demands some collaboration between parking, streetcar, and Rheingeist.
  20. One feature of The Beast that always stuck out to me were the lurches in the middle of the second helix. I haven't ridden it for over 20 years so it may have been remedied. Almost as if there's a bit of a design issue in the tracking. Anybody ever noticed it.
  21. I like campus for all the reasons you pros can enunciate better than I can. But the new Linder? When I see the renderings, I think it would look at home in 1971 Queensgate.

That second pic is notable. To the left is the old Fifth and Race Tower. To the right is the soon to be demolished Mabley building and the theater that was attached (I think) adjacent to that Roy Rogers.
  23. ^Monk traveled on the next to last play and it wasn't called.

Could you explain that a different way. I'm not quite following it.
  25. Just now seeing this. Very perceptive of you. ?
