Cincinnati: Interstate 75
Looking through the plans I see some encouraging/notable points. - One day you'll see BGS with "Exit 11 Anthony Wayne" on it, I assume. - Shepherd Lane will play a much bigger role and replace the collector/dist. - A GE Parkway will give access to land freed up for development. - Ramp access from WB RR to NB 75 - Left hand Galbraith replaced with right hand flyover. - Galbraith/RR SB75 bottleneck cured?

Favorite Local Radio Station
In the early 90s 107.1FM was The Power Pig. I listened to The Pig solidly for about 18 months until one night it suddenly changed formats to proto-EDM dance music. The rumor was that it was cutting too deeply into WEBN so the parent company zapped it in an effort to consolidate all angry white guys at just one point on the dial. It didn't work, at least in my case. That's when I discovered WAIF 88.3FM and never looked back. The Power Pig LOVED Helmet...this song was played hourly: I recorded this off The Power Pig and played it on my walkman in my backpack during Algebra class. I would turn it up during the falsetto "chiny-chin-chin". Mr. Cappell couldn't figure out where the sound was coming from. I remember the one time he was convinced it was coming from out in the hall so I turned it off right when he shut the door. But then a few minutes later...it was back. Hah! Green Jelly. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

I did 1968/2015 side-by-side comparisons of about 90+ of these a while back and never published them. If there's interest, I can throw them up somewhere. But, yeah. I do feel like some of the ones you guys are posting are new.

Are you sure they haven't added to it? Seems like there are some I haven't seen before.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Dennison Hotel Demolition
If it does get torn town I hope that is true, but WOW they need to hire a new PR firm or at least change how they approach things. Lots of people in the against column would not be nearly as vocal if, like Mr Grewie they put in lots of effort to design and think about the replacement building before approaching the city to talk demo. It would still have issues since it is a more signifigant structure than the one across the street but it would help ease fear that this would be empty for several decades like everything else they touched around there. This entire time, the Joseph's, Columbia REI, the legal team, the Mayor and their PR firm look like elitist snobs who play by their own rules and look down on those dumb residents who actually care about the city. X2

If this goes through there should be an enthusiastic boycott of Joseph owned businesses.

This Is Why You're Fat!
As an avid dater when I was younger, I dated a few tall gals. I learned to like it but only because it fed my ego in a weird way. Having a statuesque blonde or brunette on one's arm has a certain glamour to it. How's that for being a shallow bastard? Once I got over myself, I definitely ended up with average women - from a height perspective. ? To bring this back on track, how ridiculous is BMI by today's standards. I mean, you can't touch weight training if you want to be normal by govt standards.

Cincinnati: State of Downtown
You guys are making good arguments both ways. I think of the KY International space in Louisville that kept Third Street (?) at ground level and uses it as a passenger/valet area and main entrance. I've used that many times as a pass through from hotel to event. It is dark but seemed active.

Maps (Google Maps, etc)
Is there a legit purpose for that? Phones use nearby wifi networks to triangulate their location. There is also a free service called WiGLE that does this, it's pretty interesting to zoom in and see network names on the map. Looking at that map, why are there so many dots that are along freeways?

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
It looks like some people have figured out that they can take their kids and their out-of-town guests with kids down to Smale park and then take them on a lap around the streetcar for a lot cheaper than taking them to the zoo or the Museum Center or Entertrainment Junction or any of those sorts of places. To some extent people just want to do something different but people can spend $50+ less taking their kids downtown than taking them to one of those places, even if they have to pay to park since they have to pay to park at those other places too. As a father of three <10yo stuck out of the core for various reasons, I'll readily admit to using the streetcar in this manner. My wife and I love the idea of parking at one node or the other and sampling all the city has to offer in between. The fact that the kids love it helps. My oldest asks questions about the architecture and the obvious construction. While the entertainment purpose of the streetcar is not our endgame, I think it's important to note how critical these riders are to numbers NOW and that most of them are typically making two+ stops and supporting businesses. Edit: We rode yesterday between 4:00p and 6:30p. Volume was good. Headways? No complaints. 5 minutes at TBX and 7 minutes at Race/Liberty. Tickets were validate on a driver switch at Race/Findlay and the whole process was fast and friendly.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Smale Riverfront Park
Maybe at the west end of that lot but the site seems too tight for anything other than park. Which I think it should be. Keep the development north of Mehring.

Cincinnati: Western Hills Viaduct
I've got one word to say and it's in honor of the great Daniel J. Ransohoff...PENEPLAIN! Gregory Creek in Butler County is one example of this...I think. It begins near Tylersville Road and I-75 and flows NW and empties in to the GMR near Middletown.

Cincinnati: 2017 Mayoral Election
If all four run, the results in the primary would be totally unpredictable. Obviously, Charlie Winburn is a fake Republican and a total disaster of a human being. His autobiography is fake, he has no loyalties, he performs exorcisms at his church, and he wrote some sort of crazy book around 2003 which nobody has a copy of but will resurface when others gear up to smear him. I used to work with a guy who went to Winburn's church service once when his family moved here, and he said it was totally nuts. Like snake-handling nuts. These words should never be used together like this in a sentence. Sorry!
