And even this gets thrown out the door at say, an amusement park, where lines suddenly become queues.

Put me down as missing this sorely.
  3. This is precisely the thing that opponents (who still didn't get the memo that the thing is built and running) point to. They want to measure success by ridership on the first Monday in January.
  4. ^Re: OH129. Yep. I know we hate freeways but... Coincidentally, I was bored the other morning and was looking at how you could connect 71 and 75 with what is probably a legitimately needed lateral. I envisioned some way to upgrade and realign OH63 so that you'd have a connection to OH4 between Hamilton and Middletown. The freeway would cross 75 near SRC, go south of Shaker Run GC, shott north to Lebanon-WarrenCo Apt, and snake it's way to where OH 48 meets Miller Road. OH48 is basically limited access as it curves south to 71.
  5. Yeah, this would have been a game-changer for the skyline: http://www.mullerarchitects.com/project-4/wpjbrqqpcfxgctsctju2sw8nev7xnu
  6. Same here. I thought it was in the bag but as I have grown to understand the dynamics, I don't think it happens. UC would be better off in the ACC in the long-run. B12 will eventually dissolve and only sporadically be represented in the CFP in the meantime. If they do get in, it's a consolation prize anyway.

It's hard to top what Ike did to southern Ohio in 2008.
  8. Yeah. IMO, Cincy's second worst garage is being demolished. This Federated thing is just so ugly and nasty. It's been a 50 (?) year long continuous insult to the architectural treasures it smothers. Who was the idiot...? EDIT: And can we once and for all get that useless black ladder thing off Cincy Bell? The building would actually be somewhat tolerable without that structure on it. Sidenote: I seem to remember it had some more uhm, substance to it back in the day. Like they have removed something in the past.
  9. Seeing this thing gone will be surreal. Like that weird feeling you got when you were a kid and your tooth finally fell out.
  10. Gotcha. I'd be curious if you get hassled going forward.
  11. Greta shots. By my count this has 6 levels (the floor of the 7th is showing) plus the parapet left to go as far as height. If that's correct, this should be pretty prominent. taestell[/member] Do you have some sort of clearance to fly a drone downtown? I thought it was verbotten.

I'd be surprised. I'm surfing on Chrome in private mode.

We did an informal U/O at the office based on Bovada's 70.5 win total back in April. Closest wins. I guessed 75. Guy who won guessed 72. Lowest guess was 57. Actual win total? 68.

Yeah when I was a kid I could tell Dukes of Hazard wasn't in Kentucky. It was like near Bob Hope Airport. You can tell that Wipeout is filmed where they did the rural chase shots on the Dukes Wait. Did I miss something? Pretty sure Dukes was set in the made-up Hazzard (notice the spelling) County, Georgia. But, yeah...the brown southern California hills didn't look like anything in Georgia...or KY for that matter.

Anybody getting a pop-over that is saying something about your computer being locked and to call Microsoft? I got it last Thursday and then again this afternoon. Otherwise I am accessing things OK.
  16. The obvious thing that maybe hasn't been mentioned here is the simple fact that one of the more annoying open surface lots will be filled. That is reason to rejoice alone, no?
  17. Haven't been in that one but I've extensively toured the Cimcool. Not sure Cimcool is worth saving due to the contamination that is probably present, but there is a lot of space under roof.
  18. This is a local circulator, that's all. The average trip is a little over a mile. It will get faster as the city improves the signals, but it's never gonna be BART. If you want speed, we need a tunnel to UC Understood. I'm certainly not in the neighborhood of being an expert. Just trying to draw some input from personal experience and let you guys shoot it down. Who knows what will come out of the exchange?
  19. John Schneider[/member] Last time I was in the bay area, I stayed at my friend's house in Orinda. We took BART to O.co, SFO, and everything in between. I thought BART ran great and was friendly to use. I know it's a different animal but maybe there are some things that are instructive. Some thoughts of mine: BART, NYC (and others) have expresses. Is having an Express Train an option? Say one of them only stops at TBX, 12/Vine (or any designated mid-point) and Findlay. BART has a Developer Program (https://www.bart.gov/schedules/developers). Available are a host of things: Complete BART trip plans from BART's official trip planning engine, Car crowding levels, special schedule notices, advisories and fare calculations Real time estimates by platform, including direction and car length Abbreviated service advisories (< 160 characters, like we use in our SMS services) Station information, and so much more... Is this an option for SORTA to allow fans/geeks to make this happen faster? (EDIT: I now seem to recall BART does not have express. Confirm?)
  20. Prime land is about to be available and the mistake made in the 1960s opening this behemoth can be partly undone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Can't recall of the top but was KC free both of those weekends you mentioned?
  22. Made me curious. Does demo include excavation to remove footers, etc.?
  23. High ridership and required de-boarding is in effect this afternoon. The cars have been pretty much packed since before 10a. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I'm a little surprised families would turn out today to ride and criticize. But if you say so. There were large crowds at every stop I saw as I headed back across the river at around 1p. Passing any judgement about speed today is premature for sure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
