Cincinnati: Brent Spence Bridge
Is there any doubt that this was all planned and executed with money from parties with interests in southern Bone, Kenton and Campbell counties? So resources that should be going to alleviate traffic problems on 71/75 will be going to expand access for warehouse facilities and suburban homes.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Fourth & Race (Pogue Garage) Redevelopment
Just use a pseudonym like some of the elected officials that post on this message board :) There's waaaay too much intellectual and objective discussion of development/transpo policy on here for just about any Cincinnati elected official to be involved. ;P

Cincinnati: CUF / Corryville: Development and News
Rabbit Hash replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionDo you remember Cody's Café on Calhoun? It's where one of the hookah places is now and it was in a bigger space than what is now there, with I think a balcony that overlooked what is now the Deja Shoe rear parking lot. One summer I spent almost every night either there or at Fries. I had a roommate for that summer who met his wife at that Cody's. She was a nanny from the Czech Republic. One day he rallied all of her nanny friends and he, I, and about eight Czech nannies went canoeing on the Little Miami. For some reason they really wanted to go to the Macaroni Grill in Tri-County afterward. That sounds like the plot to a porn movie. LOL. Vertigo was named Cooter's before. Mr. K's, R-Club, and Clifton Bay Yacht Club were some erstwhile crapholes...but they were so much fun!

Rabbit Hash replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionPrimetime needed to go if for no other reason than that horrible and unusable garage. I swear there had to be dead bodies in there.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
That's funny. I can see that too. I like it because it plays much better on "city property" like street signs, wayfinding, and bus/SC stops. Looks more official than the old. I also like how they brought in elements of the major tenants. There's a home plate, a center court circle from basketball...Still looking for the goal post, NURFC flame, and the GE logo.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Dennison Hotel Demolition
I'm losing my bearings here. Isn't that the 8th & Sycamore Development where the "Proposed Hotel and Parking Garage" is in the pic joshknut[/member] posted above? I mean, how outdated is that rendering that they are trying to put forward as a "plan"? And is it just me or is there a streetcar in both renderings crossing the 7th at Main in both renderings? One down side to all of this is if we can stop it then that's tens of millions of dollars of development that we could otherwise attribute to the streetcar. Don't tell The Crancelator that...his hair-plugged head would explode.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Dennison Hotel Demolition
So the interested parties and advisors say that all the uses of this building are not "economically feasible". After reading through the HRB docs about the other development on Main, it was obvious that the building can't be used. What's so wrong with Dennison? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Rabbit Hash replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionHaha. Good catch! Yep. Head scratcher on the palette thing. This could end up looking like GAT's little sis and then we look like Covington's Rivercenter.

Hilo, Big Island of Hawaii, Hawaii
Thanks for sharing! Cool place but when I visited it seemed like it was a bit anti-Hawaii from a weather standpoint. The rainforest is nice but I enjoyed Kona (where I stayed...Waikaloa to be exact) much more. 125 inches of rain and 180 cloudy days could get old, IMHO. I took the helicopter tour over to the Pu'u O'o crater and then followed a tube with skylights out to where the lava is spilling into the ocean and creates a constant large white plume. Incredible! EDIT: I should dog out the old prints (yes, it's been a few years) and post them!

NCAA Men's Basketball: General News & Discussion
Really just an unbelievable game last night. The only bad thing was that one team had to lose. I'd rate it the fifth best National Championship game: 1. 2013 2. 1980 3. 1986 4. 1983 5. 2016 ;)

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Artistry
Rabbit Hash replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionYou've done a good job of shedding light on this sort of thing over the years. Incidentally the Enquirer Building 312 Walnut was to have a twin as well. Eager for const. to start. This corner of CBD needs life.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Artistry
Rabbit Hash replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionYep. Luken really looks mindless and uninformed. I get his motivation but... One Lytle Place 2? Ha. Maybe it would just be Two Lytle Place...that was the plan anyway, right?

That's a good start on brainstorming. I was trying to think of a portmanteau the two ends of the line or something of that nature. Rhine Line? Meh...

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
Come on. That short streetcar line is intended to be part of a very large network of 30+ miles. Their first segment didn't get built in their downtown because the subway is already there. If the system is built-out and they can stop running buses, they will have operational savings. Whoa! Don't shoot the messenger. I saw it and thought it would spur discussion. Most of the DC coverage I've seen has had a negative bias.
