Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
Should we read anything into that? It means that the work on GE/Radius is wrapping up. TPIR loser horn...

That empty office pad from Phase 1 has a floor print of over 24,000 sq ft, so that would be pretty ideal size for a six-story UC Law School. I'm curious if Carter, as the master developer, would rather have UC move in there to complete that phase of the development, or if they'd prefer push the development further west and leave the office pad for something else. The Phase 1 office pad is directly on the streetcar tracks and has visibility from Fort Washington Way. I'm curious which site UC feels is the best fit for them. I'd hate to see that space not built to max height with its corner location along the streetcar (can we come up with a one word name for our streetcar, please?) and visible from FWW. BTW, wasn't the development rights for that space supposed to run out soon on Carter?

Streetcar supporters should patronize their establishments en masse and let the GM's know their support brought them there. 4EG operations are: IGBY'S KEYSTONE BAR & GRILL LACHEY'S THE LACKMAN LOW SPARK BAR MOUNT ADAMS PAVILION RIGHTEOUS ROOM THE ST CLAIR THE SANDBAR

NCAA Men's Basketball: General News & Discussion
4 double digit seeds have made the Final 4. LSU (1986), George Mason (2006) and VCU (2011). Sparty should have been a #1 over Oregon. Their loss was this biggest in tournament history IMHO. Syracuse does not even make the tournament from the ACC if Louisville doesn't self-impose a post-season ban. EDIT: Boeheim made a genius move to put on the press and the Richardson kid went off. If UVa gets ahead in games they are tough. To illustrate: Virginia had been 68-0 under coach Tony Bennett when the Cavs had a double-digit halftime lead.

Not to mention the building is not seismically up to par and would be a fire hazard without upgrades that are not economically feasible. Edit: Old Photos of Cincinnati on FB flared up with debate on this and it devolved into the preservation version of the communist domino theory.

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
Think of the fare revenue that these events would provide for the streetcar if left to operate and shuttle people throughout the basin. Just Taste and Okto make the mind soar. Move these to The Banks. Let people start and end their day in OTR with our streetcar providing the ride between. But no, this sets up the same scenario we've been seeing since day one: hamper the system's design/size/capability/function and then complain that it is not living up to expectations. "The streetcar is not collecting enough fares." Right, but you steal literally thousands of fares from it by shutting it down for 4 days while 600,000 people visit TB/CBD/OTR. Only in Cincinnati.

Agreed. This was discussed way back when, in this thread, probably. Hopefully logic will prevail and the events will be moved to Smale so we can take full advantage of the new and improved infrastructure we have and I don't just mean the streetcar. EDIT: After looking at the list of events (below), I can see it's more complicated than just relocating...see Opening Day Parade. Where does that go if not Race or Elm? - Flying Pig Marathon - Taste of Cincinnati - Opening Day Parade - Oktoberfest-Zinzinnati - Thanksgiving Day 10K - Heart Mini Marathon - Health Expo

Rabbit Hash replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionIt's a half mile walk in the park (literally) to Streetcar Stop #1, so I bet some people living in Skyhouse will use it. EDIT: Also if you're on a bicycle, Eggleston Ave. is sort of like a "warp zone" shortcut to OTR from that area. Funny how true that is about Eggleston. It's like the green pipes on Super Mario Bros. As mentioned, this side of the CBD has all kinds of open lots. Really, it could become self-sustaining. That's years off though. But we could have a Bucktown revival.

Who would rather see Donato's building stay and a 30+ story north tower? Alas, the letter makes it sound like that building is not useful for anything any way. I'm cheering this project!
