  1. That lot is actually pretty huge. This could be somewhat significant.
  2. If they were in Kentucky, they'd be married like Independence and Union.
  3. I'm breaking my boycott of this thread to point out that you guys that you should leave SAF be. He/she is just earning the paycheck this week.
  4. Yeah you don't want to be drinking anything while listening to Lapham because sooner or later it's going to shoot up your nose. Aside from being hysterically funny, he is one of the most articulate football analysts out there. He has that intuitive sense of his surroundings that all pro athletes have but he's really able to explain the "feel" of a play and how somebody either senses or misses an opportunity. When he remarks on something he remarks for the perspective of someone who completely grasps what happened on the play, and he looks forward to the unfolding of every play as if it's Christmas morning over and over again. I think his appreciation for what these guys go through physically always comes through too. That really comes across during his locker room interviews after losses. Very well put. Also, Brad Johansen was Chris Simms broadcast partner. He knows his Bengals but there were a couple times his homerism was on display. No biggie to me but Titans who were none the wiser had to be like WTF? More and more pundits are tagging our Bengals as the best in the league. Long season but they are playing at a high level even with injuries.
  5. I knew I had seen old pics of it. Thanks.
  6. Uh, Centre, Centre. Hello! Similarities abound! :P Isn't the Court Street Centre actually an old building that has been updated?
  7. STP has a location in Burlington, KY.
  8. ^not unlike the POTUS.
  9. Thus the danger of making specious assertions. You will end up exposing the gaps In your rationale.
  10. Holy moly. What are you into this AM!
  11. When a company moves to Hebron it is because of the airport and the easy access to shipping infrastructure. That isnt something that OTR offers. Or it could be the only Dairy Queen/BP shared building west of the Alleghenies.
  12. <Resisting urge to make sophomoric OT post.
  13. Only mildly related and I know it has been explored here but this article is further instructive. AM talk definitely knows it's listeners are auto drivers. http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/envelope/cotown/la-et-ct-fi-am-death-20140902-story.html#page=1
  14. And money left over to fund the ill fated Newport Millennium Intergalactic Tower Needle.
  15. Convince me this looks better than the old Fifth/Race. Halfway kidding.
  16. Google alert go off? Good luck tomorrow!
  17. My word. It's Pavlovian. Here's a wonderful idea: Spend over $100MM on infrastructure and then seize on the first opportunity to shut it down. This is called being a good steward?
  18. Great development. No matter what you may think of their artistic prowess, they go out of their way to place their hometown in a good light. Kudos!
  19. A blurb on the radio this AM that his plan is to make sure the streetcar doesn't run if the loss of the $5MM means that the ops costs are bore by the general fund. Here we go!
  20. I think they will allow extensions until the $2M is recouped.
  21. Fascinating!
  22. Maybe you guys can't wait for "towers" to be built in the area, but that's where I live and I don't look forward to being loomed over, and ending up in perpetual shadows! I'm not a big fan of urban canyons, and anyway I prefer the lower-to-mid-rise character of my neighborhood. The Joseph family (car dealership$) own the big parking lot and I know someday, sadly, something really tall may get built there that I won't like. Not trying to pick a fight or be sarcastic but this sounds so weird to me as I rationalize my existence in suburbia. You live in the CBD! I suppose I could complain about big yards to mow and lifeless streets. It's what we get. :P
  23. Seems like that. One would hate to speculate the worst but the path this barge has taken in its demise is the stuff conspiracy theories are made of.
  24. That was the Jefferson Avenue overpass and it was similar in construction to the overpasses that still exist at KY18 and US42. The exit was closed about 1982 because it was just to dangerous for drivers to try to make the exit headed NB. The whole configuration was odd and driven likely by Covington business interests. By the 1980s it was clear that highway speeds and commercial trucking prohibited such an interchange. The second to last picture posted is significant because it is dated almost to the exact day that my own photo out the back of the Scirocco was taken. Without a couple weeks of each other!!! Finally, the last picture illustrates why the Cincinnati skyline appeared, disappeared and reappeared. Those curves were sharp!
