^Can't blame you. So much makes Cincinnati special but it's current leadership just makes it hard to have any hope. We are Evansville on steroids.

I hope we get at least 5 votes so Sheriff Will Teasle has to take full responsibility with his veto for the resulting mess.

Says he doesn't want to cut services. News flash: if you cancel it, you will have to cut services. Pure ideologue. Who has nude pics of Crancelly?

Cranley's island is getting smaller. Or, so it seems.

Cincinnati: Historic Photos
Mid to late 90's. The Ford Explorer and Ranger on the left have tail lights that are 1993-1997 design. Wild guess would be 1994. Why? I just remember that being a bad winter.

I think it will work, how on earth did you read THAT in what I wrote?? I am saying, provide some incentive to the private investment. If the ROI meets goals (metrics will need to be determined), then the required level of private investment required should drop. Risk/Reward I like this line of thinking.

KPMG should not have been asked specific questions to answer. They should have been charged with giving a go/no-go recommendation based on the full context of the situation.

This was posted in the Warp's comment section by Flechet: "Ohio Revised Code Sec. 733.57 says "When an obligation or contract made on behalf of a municipal corporation.... creating a public duty, is being evaded or violated, the [City Solicitor] shall apply for.... the specific performance thereof...." In plain English, that means that if the city is contractually obligated to do things relative to public projects -- for example, continue work on a streetcar -- and city officials are violating those contractual obligations, the City Solicitor is REQUIRED by state law to file suit on behalf of the taxpayers of the city to enforce the contractual obligations. If he fails to do so, ANY taxpaying citizen of the city can request that he perform this obligation and, if he does not, can file suit acting in lieu of the solicitor who is refusing to perform a required duty." Is this a new development?

It'll be here eventually http://www.local12.com/entertainment/features/newsmakers/#.UqSl2SjvMUh They didn't say if the audit will take into account ROI. Mann indicated they will taake into account building Phases 2,3,4,5.... We're going to see some wild numbers. Nothing will be clear. Portune did the Eastern Corridor in the 2nd half. Portune & Mann baffle me anymore. Taking into account future phases is where they will make their case for cancellation.

I've asked more than once what everyone thinks is pulling the puppet strings here. Thanks to Jake for finally taking on the big question. I'll throw in my theory. And while my posts rarely gain responses, I hope this is considered as strongly as the lifestyle theory. One which I have no reason to think needs debunking. But... Agenda21 I think it is more likely that the opposition sees this as a battle in the war to maintain THEIR lifestyle and on a larger scale defending American sovereignty. They feel building a streetcar would be another glacial advance of the conspiracy of the UN (or whomever) to create a socialist USA. Google it and consider my point. These groups lean or are outright tea party. I'm not sure I've ever perceived a strong anti-gay element to TPers. They tend to be libertarian in this right - live and let live. But you do have to fall in line that government of nearly any type is evil.

Wonderful to see that Mann as a veteran and statesman has just been bullied by a 30-something. Cranberry is exposed. This has nothing to do with money and his arguments about financial considerations should be heretofore discredited. How will he ever build a coalition to get ANYTHING accomplished in the future. He is simply unbelievable.

It's unfortunate that so many companies declined to comment, but it's encouraging that there wasn't a single "cancel the project" message from those that did respond. You would think if they agreed they may be inclined to agree with canceling to gain favor with the emperor. Or maybe that viewpoint is oversimplified. Either way, I agree with your point.

I'm sensing today is the day that will be looked back upon as the day Cincinnati truly jumped the shark. When the sunrises tomorrow we are on a path to becoming Evansville, IN. Let the divestment begin.

I can't stop looking at that pic. PBS in the background. How the street slopes as you get closer to the "shore". Great perspective. And those beautiful rails!
