  1. From Bellevue it looks like a candle.
  2. No doubt this place will be popular on game days. Hopefully the resurgence of the Reds will turn out to be an extended period of division titles, pennants and/or World Championships...or if nothing else at least September contentions. This would provide a wild game day atmosphere for years to come, no doubt. MLH will probably be a popular Bengals pre-gamer venue too since it is well within walking distance of PBS.
  3. OK...that is so dumb it is hilarious...
  4. ^Ah, yes...the next thing to look forward to. How will this fat girl look when she is in lights on a dark stage?
  5. Agreed...I have been trying my best to fall in love with QCS because it is giving so much to the skyline but that view from the Covington cut, while impressive showcases the malnourished stature of pre-millenium high rises in Cincinnati. One solution: Another tall and fatty for the west end of DT!
  6. Great pics. PGH and CVG look so much alike in some of those river shots it is spooky! As far as size, how does PGH's DT footprint compare in size to 3C's? As dense as CVG is, PGH looks even more so if not a little smaller.

^Would it be so bad if it replaced some of the surface lots on the west side of DT? Take a drive across West Court and turn right at Central someday.
  8. Hmmm. Looks like it is pretty close by my eye. Maybe not exactly in line with that fence since, I assume, they will be bringing in some fill to raise the road. ???
  9. IIRC, the bridges are box beam and if for some reason they needed to be removed and replaced it wouldn't be so difficult...but I am not sure why this would even be done in the first place.
  10. Good news, indeed!
  11. We are fortunate in Cincy to have these big companies. How do our peer cities compare?
  12. Jersey Mike's > Jimmy John's :(
  13. Broadway Commons would have provided a great vista of Mt.Adams. Just saying. I like the river view but Newport needs at least a couple high-rises to add interest and perception that it is not East St. Louis. And they need to figure out something to do to eliminate those ugly water towers on top the far hills - it makes NoKY look like farm country...could we replace them with something more stately like you find in Mt. Washington, Mt. Adams or the one on the westside?
  14. Yes, I went. The group I was with are not urbies at all and they had no idea what it was. :/
  15. One of those areas being the Wet Woods... Again, Jeffrey, thanks for your wonderful research of Louisville. I have some pictures of the falls from 1997 that you may enjoy. They were taken at low water from the river bed. I will try to find and scan in a reasonable amount of time.
  16. I think what everyone is seeing in the pic above is the first level of human space. These are the store fronts, etc. You can't see the above ground parking in this perspective. To the left if you go down Main toward the river see the entrance ramps to the garages in the interior portions.
  17. Great detail in the second to last pic!
  18. Just a hater...I mean I am not into what BPS sells...but I have been in there and don't find it to be trashy at all. In fact, for the sqftg. it seems well laid out and maintained. But back to your language...if you are serious, is it really necessary? At best you are just being childish and at worst you are stereotyping. I mean really, if you said those things about gays, blacks or jews we would have to burn you at the stake. ;)
  19. We used epoxy coated steel on DOT projects only when I was in that industry. Our proprietary structures were estimated to have a 75 year life span due to site and structure design. I would imagine the fear that the epoxy not providing enough protection in these piers are on the same level of concern as an earthquake compromising them. But I could be wrong.
  20. So, according to the article above: By August we will no longer have a Berry Way west of Vine and Mehring Way will be relocated...folks, these are going to be some very noticeable permanent changes to our riverfront that are just a few months away! Wow! How fun has it been to witness the changes in this part of the city since 1998?
  21. Looks like work is being done on this now.
  22. These are breathtaking. More info. Where are they? Accessibility? I wanna see.
  23. This is Paul Brown Stadium masquerading as a baseball stadium...so I like it. It is original and not another iteration of the Camden Yards style (not that those are bad). But, wow. Why not build this as an indoor stadium. It must be the furthest north outdoory in pro sports.
  24. Nice. #2 reminds me of Ronny's rendering of QCS from a few years back and, boy was he close!
